Is soup a no-no? I'm confused.
If I eat soup, I start with the broth and then eat the meat chunks (since we aren't supposed to drink while eating or for 30 minutes after). I rarely eat soups with pasta or potatoes since I try not to fill my pouch space with pasta and potatoes.
I had broccoli cheese soup at Panera once, and while the stats aren't awful, it didn't fill me up and I was snacking within a few hours. I am much more full from eating dense proteins like chicken and turkey.
I think the answer depends on how far out you are. If you are post op early, only cream of chicken, bone broth, clears. No tomato, potato etc.
After you reach goal then maybe but I would stay away as they are packed with sugar and carbs usually.
If I make it myself I would eat it because I control the sugar and what is added.
I ate a lot of soup. Puréed it if it was chunky. Did my best to stay away from starchy soups or super fatty soups. I started off with Campbells Cream Of Chicken to which I would add lemon (like the Greek Avgolemono soup) and Hale & Hearty Split Pea with Ham (delicious!)
I have the broth first, solids after that.
I woke up in between a memory and a dream...

I'm moving up to full liquids on Monday and I was really looking forward to making my pumpkin soup. Would that be a no-no, too? It's pretty much just pureed pumpkin, coconut milk (lite, of course) and spices. I usually make it with onions, too, but figured I could strain those out for me.
Oh, I hope it's not a no-no. I haven't had any problems getting my fluids in and I am super bored with clear liquids.
Sounds like a bit too much sugar. Which may even make you feel sick. (Which is actually a good thing)
10 grams of sugar is a really the limit.
