What's on your Monday Menu RNYers?
Good morning!
Sorry I'm late! It's Canadian Thanksgiving and I slept in a bit. But the turkey won't cook itself so here I am.
QOTD: Do you enjoy sleeping in? We got new curtains when we moved to this house and our bedroom stays really dark. So if I haven't set my alarm I can usually stay asleep until 8 or 9. I do no like sleeping in at all! 8 is ok. 9 is pushing it and any later than that I feel like I've wasted the day.
Accountability - not the best yesterday. I'm looking forward to AMAW week and may ease in to it after today with CAMAW.
Menu:
B Protein shake
L: Turkey! Yumm!!
D: Leftovers
E: Probably won't happen today
Weight is down slightly - 178.5 today
Vitamin patches and extra vitamin D, calcium and B12
have a great day and Happy Thanksgiving!

Losing the regain! I got this!
Happy Thanksgiving to the Canadians! And happy holiday to the States folks who have the day off. It's nice to have a long weekend to relax a bit more.
QOTD: We have cats who don't usually let us sleep in very much. They want us awake to feed them. If I make it until 7, I'm doing good.
Menu:
Breakfast: veggie omelet, turkey bacon
Snack: Cappuccino protein shake
Lunch: TJ's chicken sausage, baby carrots
Dinner: sashimi
Exercise: 45 minutes on the treadmill since it is raining.

QOTD first: yes, I do love sleeping in but my ability to do so has diminished since surgery. Seems I can' sleep past 9 or so no matter how hard I try. I used to be able to sleep till 12-1 everyday on vacation. not I'm up, making my coffee, watching tv, reading a book, etc. Sometimes I bake in the AM also.
Hey all- busy weekend. Friday night I made dessert for the neighbors. strawberry pie mini's and banana cream mini's. It was fun making pie crust again - it has been a while. then I was out of AP flour so had to use cake flour and pancake mix for the banana ones. it turned out yummy anyway! Saturday we had open house, two people came and they happened to be neighbors, some renters. then we had a anniversary party for our neighbors to go to (there was fajita meat, super hot chicken fingers, veg, etc, they were having their 40th. Then to the other neighbors for some games. it was fun.
sunday was a lazy day, i watched tv, started reading a book about binge eating and what causes it and made a tight meal plan type thing. we will see how that works this week and adjust from there. the basic jist of it is you think about where your problem areas are (for me, peanut butter, ice cream, protein bars, and generally eating too much to late in the evning) and put those into buckets of never, always, conditional, and unrestricted. then before you go there- you remember that is NOt on your food plan and don't do it. Sounds really easy, time will tell. Oh, and I made alpaca burgers last night. DH got sliders, I got a patty with a fried egg on top and some mushrooms!!
Food for today:
alpaca burger
decaf
gizzards
egg whites
jello/yogurt
support group on site today, have not been in 3 months I don't think. I don't really like going but oh well. feel like I should make an appearance and maybe get something from it.
busy weekend and another busy week ahead. Teaching five classes this week - including two 75-minute ones on Wednesday afternoon. I'll be so glad when this is over. I really enjoy teaching, but this has been too much with everything else going on. Crazy, crazy semester. I think I only have three classes next week, and then two more the first week of November - then we're done for the semester! Whew! Part of me feels like retiring after this semester because it'll be more of the same the first half of spring semester, but maybe it'll be good to go at the end of the school year when I'm completely worn out...
I have a meeting related to the civic organization I'm in after work, then I was thinking about going to a lecture tonight, but I might go to meditation instead - or just go home. We'll see how I'm feeling then.
accountability was OK yesterday other than the piece of baklava my husband was supposed to eat but didn't - so I ate it. An extra 300-ish calories that I had to work in to my overall plan. Not easy. I ended up over on my calories, but it wasn't a disaster. Thank God the baklava is gone. I can't have stuff like that in my house. At least I went to Aqua Zumba last night - probably took care of a big chunk of that, although I never eat my exercise calories.
QOTD: I'm not sure if it's age or surgery or cats, but it's really hard for me to sleep past 7:00 am. I'm usually up around 5:00 or 6:00, which is tough because I'm rarely in bed before 11:00.
2 years 4 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt, a few mango and peach pieces, 10 raspberries
S: coffee with half & half, pumpkin vanilla protein/Miralax latte shake
L: 1 C chili with 2 T plain Greek yogurt
D: not sure. I have that meeting today 4:30-5:30-ish at Panera, so I may get some soup or a salad there. Otherwise, something protein-forward once I get home. Like turkey meatballs? I really don't have anything planned (big mistake, I know..)
another yogurt or frozen protein pudding pop later this evening if I can afford the calories
Forewarning: once you set and publicize a final date to leave it becomes more and more difficult each day to be motivated (and the time drags).

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!
QOTD: Sleeping in for me is sleeping until 6. I was up between 4:30-5 for work for so long (long commute), that I wake up automatically even on days when I don't need to. I'll be WFH except for a couple of days at most until I am done on 11/13, so I could try moving my sleep window but I just get up when I can't sleep anymore. I do enjoy my quiet mornings too.
1.5 years post-op (maintenance). 23 work days to retirement (11/13).
B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon
L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese
D: Leftover Salmon and veggies
S: yogurt, baked apple

Good Morning! I hope all that are off today enjoy the long weekend (Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian peeps!). The weekend was pretty quick, I am fighting a cold or allergies so aside from getting my hair trimmed, a trip to the fair and a date night dinner we didn't do much.
QOTD: I can't sleep in no matter how hard I try. My body is used to my schedule so it wakes me up.
Accountability: Today is a new day-I'll just leave that there.
