Morning weekenders!

How was everyone's Saturday? Made it to the shower, then hosted a dinner ( hubby and father in law did the heavy lifting there) and today we're off to a big family turkey dinner and horseshoe tournament today. But before all that, I'll drink coffee and catch up on the weeks posts!

qotd: product round up time! What are products or tools you rely on a lot post op? Are you all about your instant pot? Specific brand of work out clothes? A type of protein powder you rely on?

i love my enamel and cast iron cook ware. I've had them for years, but the focus on protein post op has brought them back into near daily use.

We also grill a lot too, so my digital meat thermometer gets a lot of action, as I fear undercooked meat, but now want to be sure of not over cooking and run the risk of drying It out.

im stuck on premier protein. I've tried a few other RTD ones, but the convenience and stats of premier make it a no brainer for me. I do want to try some of the syntrax ones, that mix with water though.

I also rely heavily on my phone. I use apps to track my food, synch with my aria scale to track weight, post on here. Etc,

accountability: just ok.food at the shower was all awesomely wls friendly. Chicken brochettes, stuffed mushrooms, coconut shrimp etc. I did have a bite of cheese cake at dessert last night though, and I've been struggling with cravings since. Sigh.

menu:

B: premier and coffee

L/D: no real plan other than turkey later today. But protein forward, and definitely no cheese cake...

have a good one!

Happy Sunday! I had a great day with SIL/friends celebrating one SIL'a birthday yesterday. Rain today I think though.

QOTD: I love my Instant Pot, though I used it more in the cooler months. I rely on eggbeaters vs eggs and eat a lot of cottage cheese. I also have a spiralizer but don't use it often. Other than that, I don't really use anything I didn't in the past. Though I didn't think about the phone. I definitely rely on it for tracking, vitamin alarms, no drinking alarms and shopping lists.

1.5 years post-op (maintenance). 23 work days to retirement (11/13).

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles and cottage cheese

D: Real Good pizza

S: yogurt, baked apple

Morning all!

I had a great day yesterday. I went shopping in the morning and bought ALL. THE. THINGS. I spent hours walking through Target and touched everything. Then went to TJMaxx and did the same thing. Ahhh, retail therapy is real, people.

I have barely any plans today, but I need to catch up on organization and bill paying and a little work, too. I'm doing a little more shopping this afternoon at the Container Store. Anyone else obsessed with this place? My heart.

QOTD: I really like my sous vide but I admit that after the initial excitement, I haven't used it much. But for a newbie who is struggling with swallowing dry meat, I'd recommend it. I don't really care for the instant pot... I haven't made anything superior with it and portions are too big for just me (and Grim doesn't eat anything with ingredients, lol!). I think the best tool in my collection is the NutriBullet. I make delicious shakes in it and have ground almonds into flour. It's a great "can't live without" appliance.

Planning on going Shake Shack today so I will be good about skipping the bun and fries. Hey look at my totals! I hit my calorie goal within 2 calories! That never happens! Carbs are over, but it is so hard to get this balance right. If I hit one target correctly, chances are I am off in another.

Post Op, 27 months. Maintenance Diet:

Exercise: Nothing "formal" but I hope to go for a nice fall walk today.

Vitamins: Patches (Iron, Multi & D3) + Oral (Iron & B12)

So I just looked online at the Container Store. Wow! I think I have to go there. The jewelry stackers look terrific. My jewelry is a mess in my drawer, so they'd be great for organizing it. Also my makeup, plastic grocery bags...

Last month I did a Labor Day new clothes shopping spree and had Shake Shack for lunch. It wasn't the same and believe me I did not skip over the bad stuff.

I seriously think you may have been my child in a past life! Because the daughter I have today is all about touching all things at TJ Maxx and Target yup she does that! Awe The Container Store is one of her favorite stores ever and I have no idea why getting her out of there is like getting 5 year old out of a play place at McDonald's!
