So I'm six weeks into my surgery and at first the weight was coming off fast. Now I am hovering over the same weight for days. I've incorporated exercise- is this part of the process?

For most of us- yes. Normal process losing in a stair like pattern.

Depends on what you eat, how much, how much you need to lose- you can expect to lose 1-2 lbs per week. Less as you getting farther from surgery, and have less fat to lose.

100% normal.

Put the scale away for a while. As long as you follow the food and exercise plan the weight will come off. This is a marathon not a sprint.

It definitely is part of the process.

It's been a long time since I was early out but I distinctly remember my loss pattern. I would lose for a bit, then stop or gain a pound for a week or so. Then start losing again. If I started worrying about not losing I would add more protein. It probably didn't help anything, but I felt like I was doing something. And more protein never hurts.

I was a "slow" loser, but I ended up losing about 120 pounds the first year. When I looked at it rationally I was happy. But rational is hard sometimes and I eventually dumped the scale for a few months. If stalls end up making you crazy or your fixated on losing a certain amount at a time you might doing that for a bit also.

You're absolutely normal. And you're going to do just fine.

I had a 3 week stall after week one! I've had several over the last 10 months - in fact I just broke through one this morning. They happen and are very frustrating, but stay the course - it's normal.

I only weighed once a month during the weight loss period (on my surgiversary), as I knew there would be stalls and I didn't want to get discouraged.
