What's on your Saturday menu RNYers?
Morning everyone! My run is done and I've finished breakfast. No weekend plans, I've got Monday off too- but will go in for a bit to catch up on some stuff.
Yesterday i had my annual with my surgeon. They gave me a sheet with sample breakfast, lunch and dinner ideas. I'm going to open my mind to a few things on there occasionally (like bagel thins), since I've accepted that I'm happy where I am overall. I hesitate calling where I am maintenance- I like 'maintain-a-loss'. They also want me to stop weighing everyday-- not gonna happen. I know that will lead me down a denial rabbit hole that's too risky. I don't go crazy over the fluctuations. And they said I can do just one multivitamin a day now. Waiting on blood work results to see where my levels are.
Qotd: I'm thankful for the general level of peace I have in my life right now. There is no one aspect driving me batty- all is pretty much level. Calm before a storm-- maybe... but I'm thankful for the calm.
Accountability: yesterday I bought a cranberry orange loaf. Foolish. After cutting off of it twice and realizing it was making my pouch unhappy- i smashed up the remainder- doused it in salt and trashed it.
2.5 year out, 200 today
m1: cinnamon raisin bagel thin, 1 egg, 1oz ham
m2: Greek yogurt, berries
m3: left over pork chop or ham/srichrria/cheese roll
m4: making jambalaya for the family- I'll eat something else. Never made my turkey taco meat from yesterday- so maybe that.

Just out of curiosity why don't they want you to weigh daily? My surgeon was glad that I do.

I'm up 6# from last year and I expressed concern about that. Since I'm still statistically a success, losing 75%of my excess weight, they aren't concerned. I guess they think I'm driving myself mad.
I'd consider at least every other day-- no-- I'm lying. I wouldn't. Everyday works for me.

OH can be weird - I swear I replied but it isn't here.
Anyway, the gist of it was that of course you know what works best for you. I also need to weigh daily though I never would have before WLS.

Yes and your nutritionist expects you to lose 65 percent of your excess weight too--they consider that a success. Personally I didn't rearrage my insides to still be overweight. I intend to do what people who have had success have done. My dietitian has not had weight loss surgery or been overweight. Luckily here at OH we have many who HAVE lost all their excess weight and successfully kept it off. Thankful for you folks every day!
I'm with you Karen!

Telling a carb addict like me to eat quinoa and bagel thins occasionally is like telling an alcoholic he can have a beer every once in a while. Just not possible. I even gave up protein bars which I love because the carbs there make me crave other carbs that are not good for me. We each have to know our own issues and do what works to give us the level of health and fitness we want.
No I didnt take your comment as rude. My surgeons dietitian tells me the same thing so I know where you're coming from. I am just amazed at how clueless some of the nutritionists and dietitians are about how our minds work. I'm so thankful for all the support and encouragement and accountability here that helped me get quickly below goal and stay there for 41/2 years so far.
