QOTD: I have to start with this or I will totally forget. I think failing is not an option for me. I have to be strong and healthy. I also try to think of the time before where I was not being a true partner to my DH. He had to carry a lot of the balance in our marriage, cleaning, lawn work, moving things, all the physical things because I could not because I was too heavy/no energy. now I have a ton more energy and truly share the load in the marriage. this is a huge deal for me. It was not being fair to him for me to be so limited. It is almost like being a burden and I didn't want that. We would have never been able to consider moving before. So many things it was overwhelming.

Menu today:

hmmm

decaf/protein powder

protein cake?

coleslaw (homemade with plain greek yogurt)

tunafish again (cleaning out pantry)

Not sure about dinner- we had tuna last night for dinner (DH had a grilled sandwish, I had tuna with bolthouse dressing, lettuce from garden and some plain dry coleslaw.

Exercise: going to try to do some yoga today here at the house.

Good morning :)

I woke up not feeling well and a bit dizzy so I'm hoping for a quiet day today. My parents, brother, and his fiancee are coming tomorrow to stay for the holiday weekend. I will have to do some tidying. Our house just isn't big enough for six people and two dogs ;) I've actually been looking to see if there are any rural properties that might be interesting for us but nothing has caught my eye yet. I love our current house so it would take something really special that checked alllll the boxes!!

QOTD: one thing that keeps me motivated is from when I was in the pre-op process. I remember the dietitian saying she had just met someone who was five years out and one pound away from their starting weight. I do not want to go back there so I have to get my butt in gear!! Life has calmed down a bit and we are finding our new routines so I want to use that momentum to get my eating in a better place.

Breakfast - protein bar

Snack - Greek yogurt

Lunch - turkey sausage

Snack - peanuts

Snack - pepperoni and cheese

Dinner - tbd

Snack - protein shake if needed

All water and vits.

Qotd: coming here every day motivates me to stick to the plan, my husband motivates me because I have gotten to rejoice in some of HIS victories, and also seeing before/after pictures of women who start around my weight/height.

Ate very little yesterday. I felt fine, but good just didn't appeal. More days like that please! I ate half my breakfast, I had my salad for lunch, then dinner was a hardshell taco (had a change of plans last night) and a protein shake after the gym.

Today I have pulmonary testing to get surgery clearance and I'm not sure what they're going to do. DH mentioned a walking test? Leaving work early and meeting up with a college mate later so my plan for the day is all askew and up in the air. Will have chicken maple sausage for breakfast and I still have some turkey and sugar snap peas in the fridge at work.

my work schedule has nothing on it for the first time in awhile, so I'm going to work remotely at least for awhile ****il I start to lose focus). Love these days! Plus it'll be nice to get semi-caught up.

QOTD: like someone else said, my fear of getting fat again keeps me motivated. I NEVER want to go back there! And coming here every day helps motivate me, too.

2 years 4 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt, 1/4 mango, pomegranate seeds

S: coffee with half & half, pumpkin vanilla latte shake

L: 1 C chili with 2 T shredded cheddar cheese

D: lentil vegetable soup and some sort of salad

probably another yogurt or frozen protein pudding pop later

ex: yoga

Hey Teena and RNYers how are you all? I have a PCP appt today so I am leaving work early and going to take myself to Panera Bread for lunch, will have some kind of salad with chicken.

Accountability: 100% on plan, no extra bites

QOTD: When you ask what keeps me motivate are you asking specific to WLS or in life in general? If WLS related its the fear of failure that motivates me and the fear of massive health problems. Stroke & heart attack run on both sides of my family and I had severe high BP before surgery so I was headed for one of those. So healthy and strong and sticking to my plan is a must for me. In life in general what motivates me is my husband and my Boss. Both are incredible role models of how to live a happy, patient, loving, inclusive way of life. I tend to be more of an introvert so they both motivate me to work on being more extroverted & inclusive and to combat my natural shyness, its hard some days but I work on it.

Hi menu Peeps!

I am finally able to get on here early enough to post! Work has changed a lot since the merger and I'm in a new HSE group, and they are keeping me busy. I feel like a Jack of all Trades - Master of non, at this point! It's frustrating and challenging all at once, but at least I feel like I have a little job security - at least for now. Being in the Energy industry is just never truly secure...

This past week or so has just sucked it. We had to put our last Boxer down Monday evening. The cancer spread so fast, and Monday night she had what we can only guess was a stroke. She was laying down and then all of a sudden sat up and started sniffing the air. Being deaf from birth, I thought maybe she had to go potty, so I gave her the hand signal to go out, and that's when we realized she had lost her vision... It was gut wrenching because when we tried to pick her up she would FREAK out and cry, so DH literally stood over her and moved her paws one by one to get her to the front door... we took her immediately to the vet at 11pm to help her cross over. That in itself was horrible, and add to it the stray dog my daughter was trying to help jumped our fence and killed 5 of my chickens just days earlier... stray dog is now in a rescue here in OKC. And Uma is in heaven with her boxer-sister Shelley that we just lost on April 30th... Sigh. Pets give us so much love and happiness, but when we lose them, it hurts like hell.

QOTD: What keeps me motivated? Hmmm... so many things do. Being healthier and able to MOVE is a big one... but I won't lie, my physical appearance is a great motivator. When I do make bad decisions with food (and we all do, I think) I am trying to learn to not beat myself up over it too much, but to shake it off and move on. I don't like always feeling guilty, but I still need something to keep me in line. Clothes are also a huge motivator! How great is it to go shopping and just pick things out without having to find specialty stores that carry plus sizes?! Great motivator too. When I was early out, the numbers dropping on the scale were HUGE motivators... now, in maintenance, keeping the numbers from RISING helps. It's very motivating to see the high end on the scale!

Accountability: It's not been pretty lately, but yesterday was a good day, and I feel back on track!

Weight this morning 137.2 16 months out/ maintenance diet

B: 3.5 ounces of meaty baked ricotta

S: 1.5 ounces of steak if I need it

L: 3.5 ounces of a burger and a small amount of a salad I made last night

S: cheese stick if I need it

D: Open. Tonight is fend for yourself... I'll be in the city, so I don't know where I'll stop. Maybe wings.
