Struggling with the last 10 pounds

Thanks Grim. It is really getting closer to 3 weeks and I have been lucky that I haven't had long stalls thus far in my loss. So overall I've been lucky. I need to just keep doing the right things, like protein, and I will lose it eventually.

I've noticed as I get lower and closer to goal, I don't lose in a step pattern anymore. I spend a good 2 weeks or 3 at the same weight, then all of a sudden I lose a pound a day for a few days. Then I sit there for a couple more weeks, then woosh again.

Keep doing what your doing! I wouldn't consider changing things for a couple more weeks.

Same thing for me. Even now in maintenance, I think I'm maintaining and then 2-3 weeks of the same weight and I'll suddenly drop 2-3lbs in a week and I'll need to up my calories again.

My average calories for the last 2 months approaching goal (125) was 801 (went from 131 to 125). I dropped another 10 pounds over the following 3 months finally settling at 115 (varying up to 118). My average calories over those 3 months were 917, 1029, 1149. I now maintain at an average of 1250 calories.

Thanks Liz! I home that I can lose a bit more before I hit maintenance. It just might take me longer than it has for me to lose these last few pounds.

I'm right behind you on the "last 10 pounds" treadmill of hell. What exercises are you doing? If it's the same thing you've been doing all along your body may need a change. Aerobic stuff will only bring us so far. Interval training and especially strength training is going to help a lot.

Thanks Scott! I really do need to do more focused strength training to increase my muscle mass. I like aerobic exercise more and it's been hard to motivate myself to work out with weights.
