What's on your Saturday menu RNYers?
Good Morning Erin and Menu Family!
QOTD: Autumn is nice and I LOVE Halloween, but I have to admit that it fills me with some dread about Winter coming because I really dislike Winter with it's short, dark days and icy cold. I deal with Depression and Winter is a tough time for me. So each day of Autumn means it's another day of shorter sunlight and another day closer to Winter. However the colorful leaves are beautiful and the weather in Autumn is lovely.
Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 87, Calories - 1,175, Carbs - 116.
B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt
L: chicken alfredo
D: beef pot roast
S: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks, light & fit Greek yogurt
E: Walking the dogs around the subdivision
Have a WONDERFUL weekend everyone!
~ Karen
I hear you Karen! Long dark nights and having to be indoors a lot in winter is NOT good for the psyche.

off to sunrise yoga this morning, then out for coffee with DH. Other things on tap: picking my mother up from the airport, cleaning our kitchen exhaust fan (hope this will "fix" it - I'm not sure if it can be easily replaced, but who knows..), doing some work for an organization I'm in, making a pot of chili, going to the farmer's market)
QOTD: I love fall except for the fact it means winter is coming - UGH! I love fall colors, the food, the clothes, the cooler weather, and pumpkin spice. I've been making a lot of pumpkin yogurt and pumpkin latte shakes lately. I miss being able to eat pumpkin muffins, though!!
2 years 3 years out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt, raspberries & blueberries
S: coffee with half & half, pumpkin latte protein/Miralax shake
L: chicken salad?
D: ear of corn, chili or chicken/peach/pecan salad
A few mini pumpkin muffins have somehow flown in my mouth over the last couple of weeks. They are gone now, thank goodness.

Happy Saturday menu folks. I already got up early and made my steelcut oatmeal (30 mins to cook!) which I eat 3-4 times a week alternating with a ham/cheese/1 yolk-lotsa egg white omelette. Tonight I'm going to my fave Greek restaurant so that means an abundance of delicious protein. There's lots of Greek restaurants in my neighborhood and for the most part they all give out a free desert called galaktobuereko which when you say it sounds sort of like "galactic booty call". It's like a custard baked in phyllo with syrup. And it's a very small piece they give, maybe a 1.5 inch square which is just the perfect portion. It satisfies without overindulging which is how I think a normal person eats. Am I a normal eater? I only look like one but I'm working on it. That's really the ultimate goal. I think I'm off to a good start in understanding that the test hasn't really even started. Thats the beauty of this forum.
Which leads me to pumpkin spice. I can take it or leave it but what I absolutely have the biggest crush ever on is PUMPKIN PIE. That's where a 1.5 inch piece probably isn't going to work for me. Of course DW can eat a little sliver and she's fine. She's got no problem buying a whole pie and making it last. Meanwhile I'm cutting off multiple slivers in one night hoping it's not noticeable.
Good morning :)
Today was supposed to be a relatively lazy day but I got a call last night from my dentist asking me if I could move my appointment to today and we have to get our car in for an oil change. Other than that it will be inside and outside chores as we feel like it.
QOTD: I love fall, but I think I like the idyllic image of fall not reality lol. I prefer spring. I love when new plants are sprouting and it's getting warmer. I do like the pumpkin Greek yogurt and apple pie... But other than that I don't generally eat fall foods :)

Morning, all!
I will be working this weekend, I need to catch up on orders and am out of several products, which will have to be made. If I stay well focused, most can be shipped by Monday.
QOTD: I adore autumn! It has always been my favorite season. Plus I'm an October baby, so I have one more reason to enjoy the fall! I have friends who find the fall to be a little mournful, sensing an elegiac quality in all of that golden, leafy splendor. But for me it's pure gorgeousness, through and through! And just when it ends and things truly begin to look somber, the holidays arrive! So I love it.
Here in gorgeous coastal California, fall is much more subdued than it is in many other places. But that doesn't stop Pumpkin Spice everything from making it's annual ubiquitous appearance! Speaking of which, I cannot wait to be cleared for coffee again! I have this huge cup which I have used for my morning coffee for years, and it is feeling quite neglected! When I bought it it was billed as holding 40! Ounces!! But since then I realize that it actually just holds 20. Still, it's big! Sigh! Someday! In the meantime, pumpkin spice candles will have to suffice! I absolutely love autumnal, gourmand scented candles. Maybe I should pick up a coffee-scented one, what do you think?
First: Cappucino protein drink
B: Greek yogurt with a little protein powder
L: 1.6 oz. Ham off the bone, 0.4 oz. cheddar
D: 2 oz. BBQ pulled chicken
S: One more protein drink
Have a wonderful and wise Saturday, everybody!

Good morning! So happy the weekend is here, it has been such a busy week and its time for relaxing and fun! The BBQ at my brothers last night was so fun, we had a great time. This morning we are taking the dogs to the beach. I'm finally going to see Wonder Woman w/my son this afternoon! Thankfully we have a theater that plays older movies for cheap so I don't miss everything anymore! I prefer seeing movies on the big screen. We are BBQing later and catching up on our DVR shows tonight.
QOTD - Absolutely my favorite time of year. I grew up in New England, so it's in my blood! I live in CA now and while its not the same, it's still my favorite time of year. Our winter here is more like fall everywhere else, so the whole sweater and boots season is a long one for me and I love it! The shorter days suck, but since I don't have to deal with the snow, ice and freezing temps I will take commuting in the dark and feeling like its bed time at 5pm any day. I miss being able to enjoy the real pumpkin spice everything...the SF creamer and yogurt don't do anything for me, bummer. So, my house is drenched in pumpkin spice/fall scented candles everywhere and that makes me happy.
Accountability - BBQ last night - I had a burger no bun, but I ended up gravitating to the bowl of chips - several times - so stupid...up a pound this morning and I'm not happy.
b-coffee w/hc, SB iced coffeee w/hh - innards of egg and sausage sandwich
l-beef jerky at movies
d-BBQ chicken
v/l on track
e-lazy walk on the beach and another tonight around the neighborhood
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning,
Im going to donate plasma and run to the grocery store.
Accountability I had air popped popcorn
Qotd I like the leaves changing but it makes me dread what's coming next. Winter is hard on me due to suffering from depression. I like the pumpkin spice creamer.
B ham and cheese omelette and string cheese
L tuna, cottage cheese and honeycrisp apple
D chicken breast and butternut squash
Have a wonderful day
Good morning menu friends! Lazy day so far but I have some housecleaning and organizing to do.
QOTD- Fall is beautiful but it's not my thing. I don't like the days getting shorter and I don't like that winter is coming. I love Pumpkin Spice but since Starbucks doesn't make a sugar free version of PSL, I switched to Cinnamon Dolce and it's very good. I used to make pumpkin pie from scratch but the fam loves the big ones Costco sells and tbh, they are so reasonable that we just buy those now. I will be picking up some canned pumpkin to make a sugar free dessert for me for next week- Canadian Thanksgiving is on October 9th.
The scale is inching back down to the 170s. I am at 180.1 today- can you believe it? Oh well. It's coming.
Accountability was good yesterday. We ate at the mall food court but I was able to make some good choices and it was yummy.
Menu-
B: Yummy Shakeology Cafe Latte with cinnamon - so delicious.
L: I'm not sure yet
D: Steak- my dad is coming to take me out for dinner and that's what we're having.
Exercise is up in the air.
Have a great day everyone.
