Happy Friday everyone!

Free Coffee Day?! How did I miss that one? Oh well... probably not a good idea for me to walk into a Dunkin Donuts, OR a McDonald's anyway... not right now.

QOTD: I am only child. My parents moved me from our hometown outside of Pittsburgh where my extended family lived, to Houston when I was 9. I grew up with not a lot of family around, which is probably one of the reasons I really covet my friends that I've had most of my life. Friends are my chosen family. They mean the world to me.

Yesterday was a CLUSTER of Clusters! Man oh man... Short story, long...

Stray dog that my daughter rescued about a month ago got our of our backyard and terrorized my chickens... killing an estimated 6-7 of them (one is still alive, though I'm not sure she'll make it)... BOTH roosters (it was so quiet this morning... sigh), and left carnage all over our property. I'm guessing she actually ate a couple because my husband and his very nice friend did a search/recover/rescue for me and only came up with 3 bodies. I kept hoping the others would come home. Chickens hiding under tarps, in sticker bushes and behind the barrels in the barn, they were traumatized.... Dog is now leaving our house today and daughter isn't daring to arguing over this one anymore. (Yet I still feel bad and dog is very scared of people and I don't know how she'll find a home, but I've tried for weeks now to get a rescue to take her to no avail).

THEN...

Son goes to his LGBT Youth group last night where recent ex boyfriend is supposed to meet him so they can talk... only newly ex wasn't there to talk, he was there for a bit of a 'let's make Jacob jealous' revenge (Jacob broke up with him originally and apparently was flirting with someone else... drama much?!)... he gets in my car after the Youth Group and started hysterically crying the whole way home (45 minutes)... like snot running from his nose gut crying... his heart has been broken and he's devastated... and while I tried to throw a few words of wisdom/support his way, I found that mostly just listening to him and holding his hand (as I drove by ice cream parlors with offers of a cone which were turned down, and milkshakes dismissed). Young heartbreak is the worst and it was killing me inside.

To say I'm glad to see Thursday DONE... that would be an understatement!

On to a bright new Friday, I hope!

Which brings me to accountability... there was a glass of wine and pizza involved. I did manage to only eat part of a piece of crust though, and the fact that I ate at an Indian restaurant last night and ordered butter chicken with no rice or naan felt like a huge accomplishment. totally comforting myself with things I shouldn't... that part bothered me a bit.

B: leftover butter chicken

L: leftover pizza toppings

D: Open

S: there are a couple of cheese sticks in the fridge here at work, but don't think I'll need them with that pizza for lunch

Sorry to hear you had such a traumatic Thursday! I hope the chickens are feeling a bit safer now, what an awful experience. And I really hope that Jacob feels better very soon. It's awful, what we humans can do to one another.

It is the worst! My heart goes out to Jacob... reminded me of my son's first heart break...inconsolable and devastating - just heart wrenching.

It really is... My daughter has only ever been the 'dumper' so far in her relationships... and she's like a light switch-dumper... she just turns it off and moves on (and doesn't share any heartache she might experience). My son on the other hand is so much like me. He wears his heart on his sleeve and just really attaches himself. I hope he's feeling better today.

OMG! What a tough day! I can't even imagine. I love my animals but when they resort to their instincts it can sure be tough to take.

DS will obviously learn from this experience but young love is so hard!

Good morning Friday menu peeps. I Have been an eating disaster for the past week. I Had houseguests all week, And ate a lot of restaurant food. I didn't go completely off the rails, but let's just say that the rail car was tipping dangerously. I am up 3 pounds this morning, which is what I deserve. I know that some of it is water, but still. Ish. The good (?) news is that I have my second round of plastics on Monday, so recovery should take care of the gain. Boobs and arms yay!

On Monday my landscapers are starting on my front and backyard remodel. So excited. So, my weekend will be filled with food prep for after surgery, picking up compression stuff, and getting all of the patio furniture into the garage.

QOTD: I am the youngest of six kids, and the only girl. Yeah, you read that right. My Dad came from a family of 10 kids. I have 10 nieces and nephews and 13 greats. Holidays are insane in my family.

Accountability: Ummmm, what's that?
