You know mentioning weight loss with anyone is a double edged sword... if someone says WOW you look awesome or mentions a body area you have lost in... the other side is... I didn't look good before. I think he's a smart man ;)
Also... sometimes the non-op in the relationships fear the changes... no longer their eating buddy, dining out/date nights change, doubts about whether when you lose weight you will want them or not. Agree with the above poster who said ask for what you want.
P.S. In-person support groups (or coffee gatherings post support group meetings) are great for finding a group of cheerleaders who are all going through similar experiences.
