Thanks, Liz. I set my goal pretty high - 180, so yes, I'm under goal now at 153. I wouldn't mind losing a bit more, though. I'm 5'7" tall.

we checked hotel prices in Milwaukee yesterday (for last night) on hotwire, and nothing besides a Motel 6 and some places with iffy reviews were available for under $100, so we decided to punt it and just go for the day today. Not sure what was going on in Milwaukee, but clearly something (maybe the Brewers/Cubs game? Not sure). I can usually pick up something decent on hotwire for a great price, but boy, not this weekend. That's fine - Milwaukee's only a little over an hour from here, so I wasn't terribly excited about springing for a hotel *anyway*. It was DH's idea... I think he just wanted to get away for the weekend. But looking forward to spending the day there today.

Got sick last night after eating some protein pudding. Although I'm sure it was a coincidence, I'm using it as an excuse to eat healthier (not to mention less) the next couple of days to "settle my stomach". Actually a day or two of protein shakes and yogurt sounds great, but that would be hard to do since we'll be out of town. Still, I'm going to be really careful today.

2 years 3 months out

B: Greek yogurt with fresh blueberries

S: protein shake, maybe coffee (or maybe not - if my stomach is still acting up)

L: ??

D: ??

I have some protein bars with me in case we can't find anything safe, although that would be unlikely....

ex: nothing formal, but a lot of walking around

forgot the QOTD. Once when I was in college, I went to Reno with a friend as a side trip of a California visit. I won $200 playing slot machines. I've only gambled once or twice since and made a rule that I'd only spend $20, and once it was gone, that was it. Haven't won since. Haven't played in years, either - I'm too afraid I'd get hooked on it!

Good morning! Heading to the farmers market this morning. I don't really need anything, but I like going for the walk (it's a huge market spanning several city blocks), and to be honest, to pet everyone's dogs. EVERYBODY brings their dog! I might buy some cheese. There's a booth that sells artisan and flavored cheeses, and I love their smoked bacon cheddar and their dill cheese.

Qotd: I "won" several generous scholarships for creative writing when I was getting ready for college, and my junior year of college I wrote a short story that won me a new laptop. I need to make time to write again.

Breakfast: scrambled eggs and slice of ham

lunch: not sure, probably whatever leftovers I scrounge from the fridge, or I'll have a salad.

Dinner: I'm making zuppa toscana, light on the potatos, heavy on the sausage and kale. Using bone broth instead of the regular broth.

Celery sticks and cream cheese if I need a snack.

Morning!

I'm still up a few pounds, and I know it's from working out, but it makes me want to scream. I really want to be in the 190's again before my 5 month apt on Tuesday.

QUOTD: When I was in grade school I won a CD player in a raffle at a bowling ally. I was so pumped. Then I've won awards here and there, mostly for acting or academics.

A: Dinner yesterday ended up being at this home cooking place. All the food options were fried. So I order chicken for the first time since my stricture. I ripped it apart and skipped the breading. I wasn't a big fan. And the portions were insane. It came with bean salad, corn fritters, cole slaw, cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, and some other stuff. No wonder we have an obesity problem. I only ate some cottage cheese and I have to confess to having one single bite of mashed potatoes. Sigh.

M:

  1. Protein Coffee
  2. egg drop soup
  3. Okra with nutrional yeast
  4. tofu stir fry
  5. Something with protein

E: walk

V: good

Hi all, Happy Sunday!

I consider myself fairly lucky, though not (yet) extravagantly so. I've won money several times, and once I won a TV in a sales contest. I think that the first thing I won was a little turtle! Every May, my town held a carnival fund raiser for our schools. There were carnival rides, lots of games, a big White Elephant sale, face painting, a dunk-the-clown ball-throwing contest, a pie eating contest, etc. In the gymnasium, there was a turtle race. You'd buy a block of wood with a colored stripe on it, which corresponded to a colored stick-on star (mine was green) on the back of a turtle. Then all of the turtles were placed (actually, dumped) into the center of a marked circle on the floor. The first turtle to crawl beyond the circle was the winner! That little turtle lived a long time, and we got another to keep him company. We always had quite a menagerie!

First: Cappucino Protein drink

B: 1.7 oz. Ham, 0.3 oz. Cheddar

L: 2 oz.BBQ pulled chicken

D: 1.7 oz. Turkey, 0.3 oz. Cheddar

S: either some Greek yogurt with a little protein powder in it to cut that intense sour tang, or a second protein shake - trying to up my protein.

Have a beautiful, wise day, everyone!

Good morning all! Had a lovely day yesterday settling back into home, it was perfect. Today we are taking the dogs for a walk and then heading out to watch football at a local watering hole and there will be hot wings! YUM!

QOTD - I have won little things here and there, a little on lotto, slot gambling, a gift card or two and this last week at my conference I won a set of 4 Moscow mule cups - not too shabby!

Accountability - still recovering from my trip having allowed things to get out of hand carb wise... I had a reset day yesterday but I was so hungry! So I let myself eat more protein than usual to get past my carb cravings....ugh, why did I do this to myself? Feeling much better today though.

10 mo post op

b-coffee and 1/2 protein bar

l-hot wings

d-BBQ chicken

s-1/2 protein bar

v/l on track

e-walking the dogs, another walk later

Have a great day everyone!
