Qotd: my favorite vacation so far is when we took the kids to Disneyland. They were the perfect age, and we planned well for the trip- so financially we were comfortable. I also planned out the order of the rides so we had minimal wait times. We saw a lot while in California too- checked off my California bucket list in one trip.

Like Karen's family, we too had a summer house where we spent every July and August while I was growing up. It's still in our family. There is nowhere in the world (and I have been to some amazing places) with sweeter, silkier air, a fragrant blend of mint, pine, fir, cedar, and apple. In my childhood, it was frequently cold enough at night to build a roaring fire in the huge old fireplace, but that is very rare now; we really do live in warmer times. We would swim in the ancient, deep lake, formed by the glaciers; practice skipping the flattest stones we could find over the surface of the water; hunt for fossils and arrowheads; canoe, walk all the way around the lake, climb trees, swing in the old hammock, read, color, and play tons of games. Out of all of the places I have lived or traveled to, that place in upstate New York is the very dearest to me, and the place where I feel most at home.

Happy Saturday, everyone! So glad that today is my Friday and I have finally approached the weekend. What a long week it's been, I'm blaming the weather, everything has just been blah the last several days.
Qotd: my favorite vacation has to be when DH and I spent a month in SE Asia. We only got to roam around Thailand and Cambodia but it was amazing. We really wanted to make it to Vietnam and Laos but a month is just not enough time. Dying to go outside the country again. Travel is my life's aspiration! India is at the top of my list... sigh, someday :)

Good morning menu friends.
Finally finding time to catch up on reading posts, and make a post of my own.
It was a crazy busy week for me. Last night was the Garth Brooks concert and it was amazing. That was the third time I have seen him and he never ever disappoints.
This afternoon and evening are going to be busy too. Going to get ready here in a bit and then heading to my dad's to visit and pick up jalapeno peppers from his garden. Then to a co-workers 3rd annual get together for a while, after that I will hit the grocery store for easy for the week. Then back home and to the bowling alley to watch a friend bowl and do some catching up with the group of people I used to bowl with.
Sunday will be spent canning salsa with the friend from the bowling alley on Saturday night. Then back to work on Monday night to start my 60 hour work week.
Sorry for rambling on and on.
