qotd: I must have been around 5-6 when I started getting chubby. I was teased as early as kindergarten but when I look at pics of myself pre-school age I looked like an average sized child. I dropped a lot of weight in high school for softball, but I did so by taking caffeine pills and skipping meals, so not exactly the healthiest way, but "everyone else was doing it."
i need to go for groceries tonight...fridge is getting pretty bare.
breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs, large skinny latte
snack: string cheese
lunch: spinach salad with 3 oz diced chicken breast
snack: Greek L&F

Looking at everyone's pics, and in my morning rush I forgot to attach my own photo Friday pics! The first is a silly pic of DH and I at our local pumpkin patch. My company picnic was held there. Second pic is a Rose that finally bloomed after doing NOTHING all summer.

drive-by for now - I have to get into work because I have a desk shift in 35 minutes. After that I have to head over to my clinic to speak to a pre-op group. Luckily, nothing on my schedule for the afternoon, so I can get caught up with stuff. Next week is going to be a doozy...
QOTD: as a child I was overweight, but not obese. In high school I weighed in the 150-170 range. I became obese in college, starting as a freshman at 155 and ending up at 210 (I remember stepping on a scale my senior year of college and dying that I was above 200 lbs). Got back down to 150-ish after that after practically starving myself, then by the end of my 20s was back up to over 200 again - I remember being in the 230s for quite awhile. Once I was over 30 years old, the pounds really started piling on. I should have never let that happen. It's so hard to get rid of once it's there...
2 years 3 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt, fresh raspberries & 1/4 mango
S: coffee with half & half, SF pumpkin vanilla protein shake (forgot to put the Miralax in - crap!!)
L: probably just a protein bar since I'll be eating on the run
D: we're going to this place with some friends. Not sure what to get. So much of this stuff is either too expensive or too carby - or not my thing. Maybe the tuna or the chicken?
Hi folks!! Yay for Friday! Today is the graduation of the firefighter class- I really like going to graduation since its shows the fruit of our hard work, getting them on-board. After work I'm meeting a colleague for dinner at a Mexican spot. I tried to peep their menu online- but their site doesn't work. I'm sure I'll have protein friendly options, but would prefer to know. Tomorrow I'm going to the Hero Thrill Show- where Police & Fire demonstrate the cool things they do.
Accountability- I had a Philly soft pretzel yesterday- only off plan thing. But those damn pretzels are 70 carbs. I still have trouble believing the carb count in some foods. Denial is a B.
QOTD: I guess I was overweight all my life. I say I guess because this i the very issue I had to work through in therapy. Reality is I was not as huge as family and school mates etc made me out to be. And had I been encouraged to maintain and taught basic nutrition, rather than berated for being so fat, greedy, lazy etc- I may not have ever reached being SMO
199 today is in full effect ::sigh:: 2.4 year out
M1: 1 egg, 1.5 oz ham, protein bar
M2: protein shake
M3: Greek yogurt/berries
M4: Mexican restaurant
5'6.5" High weight:337 Lowest weight:193/31 BMI: Goal: 195-205/31-32 BMI

Happy Friday, everyone!
I wasn't a fat kid, but I wasn't super skinny like my little brother was, either. I always liked to eat, but getting him to eat was a chore. I remember being around 2-3 years old, saying hi one evening to a physician friend of my parents who was visiting. He was quite a bit older than my folks, and was a gifted artist as well as a doctor. I still have a painting he made for me, sitting on my fireplace mantel. Anyway, it was late, and I remember being barefoot and in my nightgown, about to go to bed, when he arrived. He had been vacationing in Europe, and brought me a decorative wooden shoe, along with a box of chocolates for everyone. He offered me a chocolate (which were also shaped like little wooden shoes). I must have responded with alacrity, because I remember him watching me, and then saying to me in a soft, confidential voice that I would have to be careful not to like food so much that I would become fat! I wasn't even 3 years old, but I recall being quite insulted by that comment! As if I would ever be fat! Evidently I had a vision of myself that didn't include obesity! Ironic, looking back on that.
First: vanilla protein drink
B: 1.7 oz. ham off the bone, 0.3 oz. cheddar
L: 2 oz. BBQ pulled chicken
D: 1.7 oz. turkey, 0.3 oz. cheddar
S: another protein shake
Enjoy your day, everyone!
Good Morning Teena and Menu Family!
It's Photo Friday! Where are all the photos?
QOTD: I was a normal weight kid and was even anorexic during high school and college. I started gaining weight in my 30's and then lost it, gained it back, lost it again, etc. I was skinny after my daughter was born for a while, but it didn't last and I ballooned up to my highest weight of 283 by the time she was in college, which is when I decided to have WLS.
Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 58, Calories - 960, Carbs - 133.
B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks
L: alfredo chicken
D: taco meat, cheese, sour cream
S: light & fit Greek yogurt, prosciutto & mozzarella sticks
E: Walking the dogs around the subdivision
Photo Friday:
This is a picture of me walking our two dogs, Tippy (chihuahua) and Blossom (mixed breed).
Have a WONDERFUL day everyone!
