Good morning :)
Friday is here, yay!! My sister's wedding is tomorrow and it is supposed to be very hot here. I'm going to melt lol. I am so looking forward to Sunday when we can relax and just hang out with the puppies and my brother.
QOTD: my mom says I have been overweight since about three years old. I remember being on a diet when I was 13 and being about 230 pounds. Around my 19th birthday was my highest ever weight.
Post-op two years, six months
Breakfast - Greek yogurt
Snack - egg, almonds
Lunch - turkey sausage, tomatoes
Snack - ham, cheese
Dinner - tbd
Snack - protein shake if needed
All water and vits.
I was born 9lbs 10 oz and 24" in length, but I was still kinda scrawny looking. Long torso, all arms and legs, and my uncle said I looked like I was put in a taffy puller. I made up for lost time though, and by kindergarten I was a solid chunk of kid. I remained that way and gained steadily through to the end of college. I was a refrigerator with legs while playing high school football.
I got married at about 320-330, and while I was driving truck, it leveled off. When I took the job I have now (desk) my weight crept up to 391. It was so slow and steady that I didn't really notice that 60-70 lbs. Through my adulthood I never had the weight-related medical stuff show up, so it really didn't come to the forefront. No hypertension, no diabetes, no nothing. I was just this moose of a guy. I'll never forget the day I woke up and on a whim, stepped on the scale to see that highest number. To be 9 lbs short of 400 broke my heart and started my own non-surgical journey. That took off about 60 lbs, and my weight just hovered for a couple of years until all of this in the last 6.5 months.
I think it's a great qotd, and a sobering reminder as I think back while typing.
Menu:
B: Protein shake,
MS: 1/2 cup ff greek yogurt, 2 strawberries.
L: Protein shake
AS: 1/2 cup 1% Cottage cheese, 2 strawberries
S: Unsure, going to my parents. Likely as not, a piece of chicken breast and some veggies.
All vitamins and water. This puts me at around 660 calories, 126g protein, 25g carbs, 6.5 fat. Leaves room for a glass of milk as an evening snack, plus a couple decaf black coffees throughout the day.
I'm out of decaf at work, so I've had (with the approval of my NUT, doctor, and surgeon) one cup of normal octane coffee in the morning as long as I switch to decaf for anything else. That's fine. It's been so long now since I've had regular coffee, I was worried about the caffeine effects on my plumbing. I don't even notice the "boost" from it. Come to think of it, I never really reacted to it before either. I could drink coffee before going to sleep and still be out cold.
Have a great Friday folks!
Morning!
Busy day today. I have an apointment with a dermatologist to see if I can get on accutane to clear up my acne. Anyone ever get on it post wls? I'm nervous how the side effects may interact with the bypass. But surgeon said it's ok.
A: my meals ended up being a little different yesterday but still stayed in macros.
QOTD: both! I went on my first diet in secret when I was five. I would look in the mirror and cry because I was fat. I gained a little more as a coping mechanism after a traumatic experience around that age as well. Then in 3rd grade I remember watching this movie in class where the narrator said some bird weighed nearly 100lbs. The other kids thought that number was huge! But I was so embarrassed because I weighed more than that. I continued to gain, then lost a little in high school. Then gained it back. Then in college the past couple of years I swelled to 300lbs due to poor stress management and saying "whatever! Who cares? I've always been fat, I'll always be fat. Give me that fifth cookie!"
M: feels like a little pouch day, weird tightness in throat has been back the past few days. Sticking with liquids and pureeds.
V: good!
E: headed off to bootcamp in a few. Wish me luck, I'm still crazy sore.
