Good morning everyone!! I'm at my conference in Sac and making the most of my time here and enjoying the sights. Its been way more interesting than I thought. The presentations have all been great and I'm so thankful! Still, I can't wait to get home - I need normal. I leave tomorrow after a morning session.

QOTD - Yes! I was about 5 or 6 and I had a Winnie the Pooh dress. It was white with blue trim and ruffled sleeves. It had little Winnie the Pooh's all over it holding a red balloon and floating in the air. I never wanted to take it off.

Accountability - not good. I did not plan well for this trip to be in the right frame of mind and I've made some bad choices...nothing too bonkers, but my pants are snug. I also haven't been able to weigh in. I am committed to restart Saturday when I am home. I am doing full on AMAW and the gym or hike daily - come hell or high water.

B- coffee, coffee, coffee, protein bar - the 'breakfast' here is all carbs and nothing but...

l- whatever is served for lunch = protein forward

d-tacos - insides only

v/l - on track

e- none

Have a great day all

Girrrrrl, we might just be soul sisters. Winnie the Pooh was my jam! Everything in my room was either ballet pink and ruffles or plastered in Winnie. I still, to this very day, have all of my Winnie the Pooh movies on VHS... Yep, VHS hahaha.

How can you not love him?? I may be a bit older than you...This was the early 70's for me. But, I also have the VHS movies from when my son watched them! Winnie the Pooh was my first love then came Donnie Osmond!

Morning!

Today I'm crazy sore. I went hard at my workout yesterday. Like, I had to use an elevator later in the day because my legs were so wobbly. It felt good though! I'm really trying to push myself at my BootCamp workouts. I'm also thinking about taking a kickboxing course soon. I just want to be shredded and stronger than I ever imagined I could be. We will see!

QOTD: I had so many throughout my different stages. When I was really little my bio parents got me a dress from Dolly World that I loved because it would twirl out really big. When I was a few years older I had a pair of matching pajamas with Kit the American Girl doll. They were these cute little satin sailor pjs. Then in junior high I went through two stages. One was what I call "goth light" aaaah the pre-pubescent angst, and the other was a brightly colored 80's stage. Hoop earrings, neons, and "mini" skirts.

Menu: I'm trying to lower my caloric intake into the 600's. So a little less than usual. I'm also going to try some more meats slowly.

M1. Protein Coffee

M2: 1/2 Thai Chilli Tuna+ 2 T cream cheese

M3. Other half of tuna+1/4 cup cottage cheese

M4. Stuffed pablano pepper. Greek onion and chives whipped creamed cheese+gardien ground beef substitute+cheese+egg+nutrional yeast.

M5. Chicken bone broth and olives

Totals: Cal: 664, Carb: 26g, Fat:30g, p: 72g

E: take a walk and recover from yesterday

V: good to go!

Good morning menu crew! The cold is still lingering but the effects are lessened. The last thing that's really still bothering me is a lack of sleep, to the point that it's making me feel ill. All bloodwork is normal etc., it's just from being woken up all night by a family that's not quite as far progressed through their colds as I am. They cough, I wake up. Repeat. All night, every night. I don't complain about it though. I'd never sleep again if it meant my household of ladies (wife and two daughters) sleeping soundly and being healthier.

This morning I felt weak and dizzy from the cold knocking me down still. So I ate 4 slices of cucumber with one laughing cow wedge spread on them before my walk, just so I had something in me to burn.

Today's menu:

B: 2 index finger-sized meat sticks and my protein shake (35g). The meat sticks I eat (the only ones) are from our local farmer's market and have no packaging, so I don't really know the protein content. Having said that, they're very dry, not overly salty. When you bend them, they don't ooze fat and juices, and they don't contain filler at all. All meat. Quite nice flavour, and higher quality than the "slim jim" type you find at gas stations which I won't touch. These also come in mild, medium, hot, honey/garlic, suicide, purgatory, and "update your will" flavours. They're all awesome.

MS: 1/2 cup ff greek yogurt with 1.5 oz strawberries

L: 1 cup chili with extra ground beef and kidney beans. That'll be interesting later. LOL

AS: Same as MS

S: Chili again (probably) as I prepare for a few drum lessons to be taught in the evening.

Exercise: Walking to/from work, 11km round trip, and after drum lessons are done, I plan my 5km walk around town. If I have my bike back, it might turn into a 15-20 km ride for an hour. It's still in the shop getting a complete overhaul, as I've put 10000 kms on it since I bought it 4 years ago and it needs help.

QOTD: I've never really had a favourite outfit, but I have had the odd "favourite hoodie" or pair of shoes or something. There's a hoodie I picked up recently at Sally Ann re-store that is awesome. I'm going to pair it with a windproof jacket to keep me warm on my commutes this winter (hopefully). Currently I'm really liking the idea, after I hit goal and level off, of buying a couple of suits and "suiting up". I've never had the physique that a suit really looked "good" on me. When I get to that point, I want to walk in and buy a good one or two with some nice shirts, dig out the dress shoes out of the closet, get a haircut and break out my straight razor, clean up and take my wife on a date.

Hi CarlRay, I love your 'clean up and take my wife on a date' ! Love the way you talk about all your girls.... In yesterday's post you talked about your graveyard job...about safeguarding and preserving the dignity of the deceased from vandalism on Halloween...about the respect, peace and grace associated with your job... I know you're a drummer but with the beauty that seems to come out with your heartfelt words I sure hope you're a writer/songwriter?Too!

Thanks for the kind words, Rosemi. I am a drummer, but I've always dabbled in lyric writing. Currently I'm more of a "support role" for the REAL songwriters in my life, offering insight on the structure and lyric content. Nothing still rhymes with orange or purple though. I've noticed that my lyrics over the years have changed quite a lot with life changes, internal changes and the varying degree of peace in my heart. When I started about 25 years ago, there was no peace in my life. No happiness or light. Not a whole lot of anything, to be brutally honest, and my lyrics reflected that. Of course, I was writing only for me, and in my darkness, I was also involved in a band scene that propagated that (I did a lot of damage to my body and drum gear playing heavier styles). It was tough, and expensive. Thankfully that didn't last too long. To be an aggressive drummer in any style, you have to be fit, and I wasn't. A lifetime of playing was the only thing that kept me going until I settled in a classic rock band that suited me more. Years go by, bands come and go. Now I'm settled into a pocket doing something that I love (a mix of classic/country/pop), all with our own spin on it, and a lot of acoustic. I can now sit back and chuckle while watching the young guys come onto the music scene with the same style and ambition I had, but it seems that they have more "moxy" about them than I ever did. Kids are much the same and totally different at the same time nowadays. I see the same anger and frustration behind their eyes and talent, and I know the road they're on. That alone is a song. Hmm.....

They are simply amazing. There's nothing like fresh stuff from the farmer's market, even if I don't eat the fruit my wife buys (though I steal a bite of pear or apple once in a while from my youngest daughter). Last Saturday I went with my oldest daughter while the rest of my household was still sleeping. I picked up some beans, apples and pears, my meat stick fix, a big bunch of fresh-cut flowers for my wife, a decaf coffee and some mini-donuts for my daughter. Not gonna lie, they smelled AWESOME but I can't look at that stuff seriously anymore.

Whenever the suit happens, I'll be posting pics for sure. Hopefully by then I'll feel comfortable enough to actually post my face. Contrary to my profile, I'm not a wildebeast, though I'll never forget the day I snapped that pic. LOL
