Made my GOAL!!!!!
Agran! Sorry for taking do much time to get back to you. Thanks slot for great post. AND...congratulations to you for having the strength to undertake this commitment. It's a life changing step and you should be very proud that you've taken it. Really!
Two things have really helped me:
"Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies"has lots of factual info as well as emotional. I think I've read it a thousand times...really essential I think.
The Obesity Help website. As you know, everyone is helpful, informative, funny, and inspirational. OH is my support group...I've logged on when I was hanging on by my fingernails. Actually I log on several times a day just reading helps alot and posting always gets a supportive and friendly response.
As far as diet goes I strictly follow the program including a journal. Some things I differ on include: wneh possible I eat only dense protein, I try to eat no carbs or sugars, and last but not least I drink alot of water....I try to drink at least 2x the required amount or more.
As far as exercise goes...I have balance problems (doubtless you've seen the " I've fallen and I can't get up" TV ad....well that's me). Every morning I do exercises in bed and I walk one to two miles a day. Proof that I may be delusional: I just got two kittens.
Anyway, remember that your confidence is going to go way up. Mine has...I'm able to do things (like get kittens who I'll eventually trip over I'm sure) I can fit in a car, I don't have to size up furniture to see what fits (yes I have had chairs break out from under me) and the weirdest of all...even my earlobes have lost weight...I can wear more of my earrings!
Remember... You've got this! You've taken charge of your health and your life...that's a big deal and you're worth it.
If you have any questions or concerns please write!
My best...Nancy
