What CAN'T you eat with RNY? Getting a medically required VSG to RNY revision
It totally varies by person...I personally will projectile vomit if I have rice or falafel. Random. But I "can" eat other refined carbs like bread and pasta - in very small quantities. They sit like lead in my pouch and then I don't have space for protein so it's a very poor idea for me to choose those.
I wished I would dump on sugar but alas, I can tolerate sugar. I can easily eat ice cream, cake, cookies, pie...I shouldn't, but sometimes I do. I think dumping would be an awesome deterrent so that wouldn't bother me at all!
There is nothing I can't eat in small quantities. I have not tested large quantities and don't plan to. the only thing that has made me dump is drinking my premier protein too fast (swallowed the last bit in one big gulp). I won't do that again. so no issues since.

I'm 7.5 months out and so far can tolerate most meats perfectly well. I eat steak, shrimp, chicken, burger patties or meat balls (home made****asionally sausage (but if it's too fatty it makes me feel gross...I don't get sick but I feel icky), eggs, tuna, and fresh fish. I cut any visible fat off of my meat, and don't do well if something has been fried in oil (I had a piece of a chicken cutlet that my Mom cooked in a tbsp of oil and it made me feel sick). Yet I'm OK with fish done in the frying pan with a tsp of butter or becel.
I've never liked pork chops so haven't tried them yet; same with roast pork or roast beef. I just have never liked them.
I'm OK with Buddig ham, but find salami and prosciutto too fatty. I only tried bacon twice; the first time it was disgusting to me...didn't make me sick but repulsed me. The second time it was OK, but still didn't taste as good as it used to.
I can eat berries, watermelon, and very small plums from my neighbors tree. Mango was too sugary. Apple slices tasted good but I could only eat 2 little slices. I haven't tried any other fruits as I usually limit myself to berries.
Babybel Light Mozzarella cheese rounds is my favourite cheese. I sometimes like cheddar or marble cheese strings, but much prefer the babybel. I don't like the laughing cow, although I can tolerate it. I either love or hate cottage cheese and have no idea why it flip flops. I love plain Greek and Skry yogurt.
I haven't tested anything like cake or donuts or white bread or ice cream and don't intend to. If I'm craving something sweet I'll buy sugar free cool whip and add a few tbsps to my berries for a nice treat.

Hi,
I am a revision sleeve to RNY. I am only 10 weeks out but have no trouble with meats or fish. My stomach gets upset a lot because I am more lactose intolerant than I was with the sleeve, so I take lactaid. I have not tried sugar or fruit so I have no idea what would happen.

I found I can't eat normal eggs anymore. I am only a little over 1 month post op. I also can't eat potatoe salad, any type of processed cheese (i can handle mozzarella) refried beans is a no go for me. Fish and fake crab seems to be my best friend atm. Also I can't handle anything that is too greasy. I can handle butter but not oil. So far the only food that has not troubled me even a little has been cottage cheese, mozzarella, fake crab, tuna and yogurt. Everything else tends to give me tummy issues or just straight out dumping syndrome.

I had a revision from Band to Bypass because of severe GERD. While there are no foods that are specifically on my no-no list, I seem to be sensitive to some foods that were particularly difficult when I was banded.
I'm almost guaranteed to get GERD again whenever I eat fish or popcorn (both were problems before) and very dry meats can give me problems, too. But it's not nearly as bad as it was and is much more manageable. I still take PPIs as needed when it flares up, but I am much happier than before.
