I am seeing Dr Glazer next month for first time. What exactly does he do?.

I had my appointment with Dr Huyn and with the dietician, nurse, social worker and pharmacist.

I have no idea what to expect with Dr Glazer.

Also when registering it said I had to give a surgery date I dont have a date yet but it wouldnt let me register without a date.

Hi Millie,

Welcome to OH If you choose the option that you had not had surgery yet it should not have asked for a date. My best guess is maybe you had accidentally selected you had surgery already and it was looking for a date. You should be able to remove the surgery date by clicking the * gear icon, Medical History and the edit option (looks like a wrench). If you can't remove it, please let me know and I will be glad to help.

Regards,

Kathy

Hi Millie,

There is an Ontario forum where several people have met with Dr Glazer and gone through the Humber process. You can post your question there, and/or even try searching the Ontario forum for the answer to your question. I went through Toronto Western so I'm not familiar with the HRH process, but I've seen it asked and answered many times!

Hi Millie,

Come on over to the Canadian forums for hospital-specific questions.

Dr. Glazer will ask you about your medical history, any medications you are taking, ongoing health issues.

He will likely measure your neck to see if you need to be tested in a sleep clinic. He may send you for a scope, bloodwork and other tests.

His nurse will check your blood pressure and hook you up to an ECG.

Make sure you bring ALL medications and supplements you are taking. Also, be prepared for a long wait to see him. He's very thorough and friendly :)
