Do not look for that ' full feeling' when you get home weigh and measure. You no longer will be able to go by the ' I feel full' feeling. If I 'feel full ' I have eaten wayyyy too much. The measuring is so important because it's impossible to eye ball a portion. Congrats on surgery and way to go on the walking !!!
Shakes in the hospital? That's new to me.
An hour for a shake was my early pace.
Take an extra gulp if you wanna feel some restriction! (Bad advice warning)
You'll probably feel it eventually. I still toss my cookies every now and then if I eat too quick/too much/don't chew enough/ etc and frankly even soft foods can trip me up.
I highly recommend the Premier Protein shakes. They're 30 grams protein with only 160 cals. Started with chocolate but now use vanilla. I still drink one almost daily and I'm almost 6 months out. I use it in coffee/ smoothies/oatmeal
anyway congrats on a successful surgery and don't let these first couple of weeks get you down. They can be tough but there's definitely a light at the end of the tunnel.
Thanks! I did get an awful feeling this morning when I only took 45 minutes to drink my 8 oz. protein shake. Holy pressure! And, it was delayed until after I finished so I get how you just have to pace yourself. Now I know! I also like the premier protein shakes. I did try an unjury with milk this morning. Not too bad. Funny, I am enjoying the sweet flavors and normally I'm a salty savory gal... I LOVE THIS FORUM!!! If you have a question, the answer is here!! :)
Congrats on your surgery! Remember to walk, walk, walk. It will help the recovery.
