Update: turkey on everything bagel was amazing and I will need to come up with a low carb solution! Maybe turkey, cream cheese, everything bagel seasoning on a low-carb wrap or lettuce wrap?

QOTD: I still drink a shake every day. I have to get 100-150 grams of protein in pretty much every day, or my prealbumin level tanks. I could do it if I ate more protein-rich sources (eggs, meat, cottage cheese...), but I like having more variety now that I'm in maintenance, and also, I don't want to have to worry about my protein intake all day long, wondering if I got enough in. By having a shake as my morning snack, I don't have to worry about it. I like Unjury and Syntrax products because I can't taste the protein in them. I also occasionally use Quest products because I really like some of the flavors (like salted caramel). Quest is a blend, not whey protein isolate, so I didn't use it the first few months post-surgery, but I usually get enough protein now through food that i just need a slight boost - so they work. I love coming up with and trying creative shakes to keep them interesting. Pinterest has been a big help in this - although at this point I don't see many ideas that I haven't already tried!

2 years 3 months out

B: Greek yogurt, fresh blueberries & raspberries

S: coffee with half & half, SF vanilla pumpkin protein/Miralax shake

L: if I go into work today, then cottage cheese (I have some in my office fridge). If I continue to work remotely, then not sure. Something protein-forward

D: I'm thinking grilled mahi-mahi and coleslaw made with sesame-miso vinaigrette

another yogurt later if I can afford the calories (lately I've been having a grilled peach at night - topped with a little vanilla yogurt and about 1/4 C of bran cereal - yum!!)

ex: yoga

I love the Quest shakes. I drank them exclusively after my conversion to RNY and my protein numbers stayed great.

Morning menu peeps!

My life at work is changing, which makes it harder to get on here early! I guess you should be careful what you wish for since I have spent the better part of 4 years at this job without enough to do, and wishing I had more...

QOTD: I really don't drink many protein shakes anymore... I'm 16 months out, and I just find that solid foods keep me fuller longer. That being said, we do have some banana Premier Protein shakes in the cabinet, so when I do have one, it's those. The caramel ones are my favorite though. I can't stand the powdered stuff, no matter the brand though, and never could handle them well.

Accountability: Last night was a little off the walls... I walked in the house with my mom on the phone, who was sharing with me her latest adventures with this dude (who's 6 years older than me), and HIS girlfriend, and THEIR open relationship... why oh why doesn't my mom have girlfriends she can share this stuff with? Anywho... this led to me snacking on what started out with pork rinds (but they were stale) and moved on to a handful of triscuits, and a few handfuls of leftover nacho cheese doritos... and then a glass of wine. So, why do Doritos stay fresh, and pork rinds don't?! LOL

Weight this morning 137.2. 16 months out. Maintenance diet

B: 2.5 ounces of steak

S: cheese stick

L: 3 ounces of leftover taco meat (chicken and beef) and 2T of salsa

S: cheese stick

D: Open, as I'll be running my son around and I'll be in town for dinner. I usually pick pretty well when I'm out though, so hopefully I will again tonight!

Hi everyone...last night I waited until I was too hungry to eat... Before I knew it I'd wolfed down a bunch of vegetables... I felt sick for the rest of the night. Couldn't eat my dinner e.g. the protein. Feel OK today although I haven't eaten any solid food yet.

I was one of those sick human beings who actually liked the.presurgry liquid diet. So I'm happy to have at least two protein drinks a day. These days I love premier protein drinks poured over strong coffee...especially Caramel. Because I can't afford premier everyday I bought a giant thing of whey isolate powder. I liked it presurgry but it tastes awful to me now. Any tips on how to make it taste better..it literally makes me gag!

B. Protein drink and coffee

L. Cottage cheese and SF jam

S. Protein drink and coffee

D. Give last night's dinner another chance (ham and mixed veggies)

Have a great day! Nancy
