I looked at yesterday's menu post and saw your picture! You are doing amazing! And those 170's taunted me for what felt like months... hope it happens this week for you!

Good Morning Janet and Menu Family! Thanks for starting us off, Janet!

QOTD: I have several large containers of BioTrust Vanilla Cream protein powder. I kind of got burned out on protein shakes during my early days following surgery and haven't drank any recently, but I need to use these up, somehow. Does anyone have any good recipes for adding protein powder to foods? I've added it to SF pudding before to up the protein and it was good.

Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 77, Calories 1,030, Carbs - 88.

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks

L: chicken stir fry

D: lettuce, tomato, chicken, low cal dressing

S: light & fit Greek yogurt, prosciutto & mozzarella sticks

E: Walking the dogs around the subdivision

Have a WONDERFUL day everyone!

Good morning!

My menu is pretty similar to every day, but I didn't have my shake for breakfast this morning.

B: 1/2 cup ff greek plain yogurt/vanilla yogurt (yuck) because I ran out of plain mixed with 1.5 oz vector cereal to keep me sane.

MS: 1/2 cup of ff greek vanilla yogurt that I'll deal with, mixed with 1/4 cup of raisin bran

L: beef/cabbage stew (the soup has thickened and is organizing to take over the fridge)

AS: 1/2 cup of 1% cottage cheese, 1/4 cup of raisin bran (gotta keep things moving)

S: likely the stew again, but maybe chicken that I noticed thawing in the sink this morning. I know, I know I like to live dangerously close to the edge.

ES: Trying not to eat anything, but last night I cracked and had some yogurt with vector in it. Went for another 5km walk to clear my mind before bed. That, plus my 11km round trip walk to/from work was my exercise for the day.

All water got in, all vitamins got in. Plus a bunch of decaf coffee. Today though, I'm out of decaf at the office so I've made a small "normal" coffee to get me by, which was cleared with the clinic and the nutritionist as long as it's only 1 max daily and decaf the rest of the time. Looks like I'm going shopping later after I teach a bunch of drum lessons.

qotd: I do drink the shakes. After the Opti phase pre-op, I didn't think I'd ever drink them again, but it's such a great protein source that I just forced myself and now I like them again. I typically buy the Kaizen stuff from Costco for 35 g protein per shake. I've used Muscletech too, and though it was 50 calories lower, it was also only 25 g protein so the Kaizen stuff at 150 cal/35g p is the one I pick. Plus it's Costco so it's usually cheaper than Popeye's.

QOTD: I do powder as a staple. I like to add powder to iced coffee and throw into blender. it is so yummy, only do about 1/4 scoop each time as a build up. I also make a lot of protein cakes and pancakes with my powder. I generally buy marked down on GNC tables, BPI, quest, grass fed. trying the new gatorade one and some lean womens one from cvs that was 75% off now along with the ones mentioned. I REALLY want the new ghost protein from GNC but will NOT pay $40 for powder. Can't do it.

quickie for me- power still off, working again from panera bead today about 30 ish min from the house. have calls for most of the day- hoping the power comes back on asap getting really annoyed. I made TJ's cauliflower pizza on the propane grill last night and TJ's turkey burgers. I accidentally waited too long and had a bit of a burnt crust. DH had the burger and put the rest in the ice box to keep temp.
