Congrats on a successful surgery, and 1 week appt. It's great that they were able to take you off/reduce so many meds so soon!

I took gas X when I got home and it seemed to help. You're already walking and using the heating pad, so that's great. It just takes time. Hopefully the Miralax will help. My surgeon started me on Senokot stool softeners and Restorolax as soon as I left the hospital and it helped a lot.

Pre-Op Visit: Jan. 10, 2017, weight 304, surgeon: Dr. David Lindsay, St. Joe's, Toronto

1st Day of (3 weeks worth of) Optifast: Jan. 11, 2017

Surgery Date: Feb. 1st, 2017

Walk, walk, then walk some more.

Gas-X will not help alleviate discomfort from the CO2 gas that was injected in your abdominal cavity during laparoscopic surgery. It will only help if you have gas in your stomach, which is not typical at this point.

Make sure you're keeping up on your fluid intake. That's your most important job right now.

Good luck with your recovery; it will get better!
