Hi JB and OHers, ok this reply is going to sound 'off' but the first person I knew to have wls was my sister in the early 80's...I'm not sure what they had then but she passed from finally a full body infection after about three weeks. She was home after surgery for about 10days and evidently when she complained about her pain her doctor gave her more pain pills. Things have changed so much in the last 35 years and wls surgery and care have evolved so much!
Ok...food for today...(second part of 'off') I had total knee replacement surgery in late August. (Great knee by the way) got to come home on the 25th with an arsenal of medications. The pain meds are to help get through the physical therapy (bend the formerly straight leg and strengthen it.) The liquid oxycodone made me so nauseated that eventually I could not eat and had trouble staying up...lost 21.8 pounds in 17 days ..decided to just stop with the gross meds. I would rather hurt than be nauseated..soooo I am just starting to be able to eat again! Soooo
B soft boiled egg (hopefully)
L chicken broth with egg beaten into it as it heats?
D Liz's cottage chess and tuna(or more egg)
Accountability..I had 5 saltine crackers last nite... well actually that's what I ate yesterday..today I'm feeling so much better been off the dreaded meds for over 48 hours ..also I had a pt session yesterday and it was ok...
Have a great day everyone

Very sorry to hear about your sister, what a sad sad thing for your family! After that you were brave to move forward with your own surgery.
Though I wish I hadn't gained so much over the past 8 years, I am not really sorry I didn't have WLS surgery sooner. I wasn't really ready earlier, but also nowadays this surgery is so well mapped, the techniques are so highly developed, and thankfully, the risk has never been lower.
