Pork was my nemesis early on-- beef was never an issue. I was free to eat whatever after 6 weeks.

a year out to eat beef seems really long. Deli roast beef, Cooked up with peppers and cheese was a regular in my diet early on.

Wow, that sounds really good! I don't think my doc meant I couldn't have super thinly sliced roast beef as deli meats in general are approved, I just haven't tried the beef yet. The restriction applied more to regular roasts and steaks. Thank you Peachpie!

Steak, ground beef and chicken were the last things I could eat. I couldn't do either until 6-8 months out. It did not matter how I cooked it. The first steak I could do was a filet, which was heaven. As you can tell by the replies, we are all different. Approach any new food carefully to see how you will react.

Thanks for responding! I think I will still wait a bit before venturing into filet mignon territory, but I will enjoy it when I do!

I started eating beef at around 3 months out. As others have said I started with the most tender cuts of beef and chewed it very well. I still can't tolerate chicken very well.

Thank you! I have had chicken breast go down like a lead balloon, ugh! But I have managed tiny bits of pulled chicken thigh pretty well. I look forward to trying some beef, but I think I'll wait for a little while before I do!

My surgeon's instructions were to wait 6 months before eating beef, but I tried some steak at about 4 months. My stomach still takes a bit longer to process beef, but I haven't had any other problems with it.

It certainly keeps me feeling satisfied for much longer than other meats.

Thank you! To tell you the truth, I'm not longing for anything, but it hopefully will be nice when I finally give it a try!

At 3mo. I could eat all kinds meat, however I had some sort of sauce with it. BBQ sauce, mayo, steak sauce, au jus or small amount. of gravy. At 1 year out now I only require some type of "moisture" with over cooked chicken breast.

Sometimes the way the meat is sliced helps with how we tolerate it. Some stringy cuts, cut against the grain are more easily taken in. Sm. bites, chewed well all the time. What works today may not work tomorrow.

Good luck to you, it will be trial and error...
