What's on your menu today (Monday) RNYers?
When you say a "good tipper", what % do you usually tip for a good waitress?

So, 20% is pretty standard now, and that's the least I will tip a good server. But if it's a really small bill, I'll tip more for good service. (especially somewhere where your bill is like $15.00, I'm more likely to leave $5 for good service, but I'll admit it's harder to do that with a $100 tab)
I tip 10-15% when I'm not overly thrilled, but I almost always say something about as to why (and I don't hold kitchen issues against the server, but I will tell the manager). I'm better than I used to be, but I'm pretty judgmental about the competency of a server. It takes good organizational skills to do a good job, and it will drive me nuts watching a server run up for butter, then turn around and run up for a straw then turn around and run up for something else. Check on all of your tables and consolidate! LOL

I pretty much always do 20%, and also will bump up on a small bill. But for really good service/good sized bill 25%?

Morning folks. Weekend was good lots of vegging out in Saturday. I shopped online a bit- got some more cold weather running wear, a skirt & top I've been eying and a purse. Sunday I woke feeling a little off, I'm now in full blown cold territory. I'm only going into work to sign off in payroll and will come right back home. I'm a little pissy cause the scale is being temperamental, despite me being on point. Cold and temperamental scale =perfect excuse for comfort food.
Qotd: Most memorable job. My current as an HR manager. I can tell stories for days at all the ridiculous things I've seen people do either while getting a job, or at work. It amazes me we're as adavnced as we are as a society- since people seem to come to work and lose all their sensibilities.
2.4 years post op, 199 today
m1: protein shake
m2: turkey sausage & boiled egg
m3: ?? My heart wants cream of wheat- my head says dumb idea

QotD: My most memorable job was my nearly 10 years at Taco Johns (it's more of a midwestern chain competitive with Taco Bell). My store was located in a mall food court. The job itself wasn't always the most glamourous, but I liked the fast-paced times during rushes, and because we were in a mall, Christmas season was always super busy and I loved the rush. But what made it memorable was the people I worked with, we had a very tight-knit group, and all of us were around the same ages. We spent a lot of time together outside of work, and I'm still close friends with a lot of them. One of my coworkers was also a roommate for a time, and another is about to be married and I'm traveling to Denver to attend. I was 14 when I started working there, and didn't leave until after college when I started teaching. I ended up teaching some of the younger kids that had started working at the restaurant! It was kind of a laugh because they had been used to seeing me in such a non-professional environment, covered in beans and nacho cheese, cursing like a sailor, and telling them what to do (I was a shift manager). Then they had to deal with me in the classroom, with my "teacher voice"...telling them what to do.
Accountability: DH and I shared a small pumpkin pie blizzard from DQ yesterday. He felt sick the rest of the day, and I had to deal with spiking and falling blood sugars. Definitely won't need to indulge in that again...at least this year (being honest).
Breakfast: 2 hardboiled eggs, 3 chicken maple sausage links, coffee with heavy cream
Lunch: leftover ricotta bake and 2 Italian turkey meatballs
Snack: 3 oz deli turkey slices, 2 slices of swiss cheese
Dinner: up in the air. We're seeing a special showing of Spaceballs, and the theater is one of those "bistro" theaters, so whatever protein-forward options they have. I'll also probably have popcorn, depending on what I have for dinner.

Hello! I'm late posting today since I had an 8 am class.
QUOTD: I've had a handful of pretty memorable jobs. My favorite was teaching English in Southern Africa to 1-4 th graders. Best time of my life. I also was a Resident Assistant in college dorm. It was stressful and made for great stories (girls that got crazy drunk that I had to call the ambulance, girl who had made up her own language and would frequently sing in it, girl who only would run full speed up and down the hall) but I also made amazing friends.
Menu:
M1: homemade chili (1 cup)
M2: Syntrax coffee (1/2)
N3: cottage cheese (1/2 cup)
M4: olives and cheese (1/2 serving)
M5: 1/2 cup chili + 1/2 cup of bone broth
I will also be sipping on another Syntrax drink throughout the day
v: Patches last night
E: bike ride!
Quick question for anyone who sees this: at 4-5 months out how many calories and carbs were you consuming? I tend to max out at 700 calories but never have more than 800 (my surgeon told me to have 800 a day) and I keep between 30-50 grams of carbs. I was lower but upped it to help my constipation and get more veggies in. Thoughts?
I went in and checked MyFitness Pal from May 2014 when I was 5 months out, and it looks like I was from 600-750 calories a day at that point, closer to 600 at 4 months and mostly around 700 at 5 months, exercising around 300 calories per day pretty consistently (4-5 times a week). A typical day looked like:
B: A Chike iced coffee protein shake with water or Matrix mint cookie protein shake with almond milk
L: 3 oz of grilled chicken from Trader Joes + 1 oz goat cheese OR 3 oz deli turkey +.8 oz sliced cheese OR 3 oz shrimp + 2 tbsp pesto OR 3 oz tuna with light mayo
D: Turkey meatballs + cauliflower rice OR 1 chicken sausage OR 3 oz tuna sashimi + avocado slices OR 3 oz shrimp in taco seasoning with a slice of onion or pepper with mexican shredded cheese
S: snacks were almonds or a piece of cheese
I was around 30 g of carbs a day, like you.
I went from 351 to 160 two weeks shy of a year.
Good luck!

This is a screenshot of a typical day when I was 4 months post op.
My daily goal calories are set for now (on maintenance) not then, plus MFP stupidly thought I should "eat back" some of the calories I burned through exercise so that goal line at the bottom should be ignored completely... But the menu is pretty spot on! I wish I could still feel satisfied with that amount of food.
This is super helpful! I definitely think I want to cut back on my calories a little. 800 seems a little high. Thanks!
