What's on your menu today (Monday) RNYers?
on 9/11/17 4:26 am
Morning folks!
Such strange days! Hurricanes, floods, fires, and as I type we are under a severe thunderstorm and flash flood warning. I can hear great, deep rolls of thunder, and a couple of hours ago it poured for a bit. We lost power, briefly, twice. I know that for most of you, thunderstorms are a frequent occurance. But here in coastal California the climate is profoundly Mediterranean. It rains from late fall through early spring, pretty much exclusively (and often not much even then), while the rest of the year there is basically no rain. We can easily go for 6 or 7 months without rain, and thunderstorms are really, really rare at any time! Anyway,I am really enjoying hearing the thunder roll. It reminds me of those strange old Dutch men playing ninepins that Rip Van Winkle saw. I love California, but I miss thunderstorms! So this is cool.
QOTD: my most memorable job - it's a split between selling ad space, and being a tarot card reader.
First: cappuccino PP drink, warm
B: 1.6 oz. Ham with 0.4 oz. Cheddar
L: 2.0 oz. BBQ pulled chicken
D: 2.0 oz. Ham/refried beans/cheese
I will also have a couple of mugs of black tea with a little almond/cashew milk.
Lots of physical work today and tomorrow - I know I will be sore.
Have fun today!
A tarot card reader??? Now that's pretty interesting! I remember my mom was always getting her cards read when I was little! LOL

Good Morning Janet and Menu Family!
Oh, I'm sad that Daisy is stepping down from the menu boards, but you will make a great leader, Janet!
QOTD: Probably my most memorable job was my first job as a sacker/carryout and sign maker in a grocery store. The group of people I worked with was a very tight knit group of friends and we spent lots of time together outside of work. I learned to make signs at that job and they let me make artistic banners and displays, some of which won national contests. This led to me opening my own sign company eventually.
Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 68, Calories - 976, Carbs - 81.
B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks
L: hamburger patty with melted cheese
D: chicken stir fry
S: light & fit Greek yogurt, prosciutto & mozzarella sticks
E: Walking the dogs around the subdivision
Have a FANTASTIC day everyone!

Karen, I would feel better about having a menu leader who had more time in and experience. I only have a little over 6 months and while I have been relatively successful, I don't have the experience to lead the group in my opinion. I'm happy to help out getting things started, but I value the input of the vets who have more experience with what works long term.

I understand if you don't want to make the commitment, but I've been doing the one on the VSG board and I'm only a month out from you. In my case, I kind of took over when Gwen had surgery, mostly because I'm up at the buttcrack of dawn and wanted to post early. I enjoy the routine now!
