Hi All! I have been following the What's on your Menu posts everyday because there are so many pearls of wisdom to be found. And it's a great way to get to know you all! So, since I have surgery on Tuesday, I thought I would join the group and start posting. It will be great to keep me on track and accountable.
QOTD: Huge college football fan. So glad the season is upon us. Even though my Buckeyes lost yesterday :( they will be my team always and forever!! GO BUCKS!! :****ep a casual eye on pro football to keep up with coworkers, but that's about it.
Accountability: I put myself on a protein forward pre-op liquid diet that I found just to get prepared and not have a lot in my GI tract for surgery. My surgeon said eat healthy and as normal until Monday which is a clear fluids day so... to be honest - I had a 1/2 slice of medium sized barbecue pizza last night. Back on track today.
Menu:
Premier protein, 8oz. 2% milk (ran out of skim), sugar free jello container, 98% FF cream of chicken soup with milk - kind of all spaced through the day with some repeats and lots of water.
Tonight, I'm not doing a food funeral per se, but my mom is coming in from out of town to help for a few days and she is making her beef stroganoff for the family as it is my flavor. I do plan to have a 1/2 cup helping.
Have a great rest of the weekend (they are so fleeting!!).
Good on you for doing the liquid diet! Don't beatbox yourself up too much about eating real food though--I did the liquid diet with my husband before he had his surgery in May and if the surgeon tells me I don't have to do it as long for mine I certainly will NOT lol. In fact, I'm a little bitter that I decided to do it with him in support and then decided to have my own surgery so I'll have to do it again.

Just noticed my "beatbox" autocorrect, but thought it was funny, so I won't edit :P

yeah, sometimes if I'm upset with my food choices, I erupt into some mad beatboxing

Good morning :) Today is NFL football all day. On the west coast, that starts at 10am and goes until about 9pm, so excited! We are headed out to a local bar we love to watch the afternoon games as one of the games I really want to see isn't televised in our area.
QOTD - I follow/LOVE NFL and my team is the New England Patriots. I grew up in Mass so it's the law/mortal sin not follow to follow all NE teams... so Sox, Celtic and Bruins too, although it's really all about NFL for me.
Accountability - I ate 4 pieces of my sons carmel corn, a spoon full of peanut butter and a half a pint of halo top (the rest is going in the trash)Ugh... Anxiety, stress... I don't know. Ice cream is a trigger food for me, so I had no business buying it.
9 mo post op - 176 still- day 5 and after what I ate, I'm thankful
b-coffee w/hh and splenda, SB iced coffee w/hh and splenda, eggs
l-steak and mushrooms
d-leftover meatloaf or chicken

OK Chris are you really my brother in disguise??? You do BBQ so does he.... He loves racing so does he... My brother is also a bowler (he is actually bowled many 300 games and went to the JR Olympics) one big difference between you two is that he is a huge Bears fan and only tolerates the Patriots for his brother in law... So I guess we are destined to get along....
