Only slightly. It's slow going. I'm getting really tired of being in pain. But it is a little bit better so I'm hoping it will continue to improve as time goes on.

Good morning :)

This morning we are up and ready to go because puppy 2 (Barley) gets his stitches out today. Then we are going to our friends house -- they just built their home so we get to see it finally!! :)

Accountability: yesterday was actually good. I felt nauseous around dinner and only had two bites of my food. Later I had a little bread with SF jam.

QOTD: from day 1 I have had issues with getting in my water. I wasn't a big water drinker before -- I loved carbonated water though. I don't drink carbonated drinks now. For the first couple weeks after surgery I used the forms they gave us in the hospital which tracked our fluids by hour. Once I got further out I downloaded an app and I use that everyday now.

Post-op two years, six months.

Breakfast - protein shake

Snack - turkey sausage

Lunch - chicken

Snack - chicken skewer and tzatziki

Dinner - bunless burger with salsa

Snack - protein shake

All water and vits.

Working this weekend, plus cleaning house. I keep thinking of my friends in the Southeast, may they , and anyone here who is in Irma's path, be safe.I

I'm still new at not quite 3 months out, and don't really have any tips, but I try to focus during meals, to slow myself down and to take tiny bites, chew everything to smithereens, and make the meal last rather than just inhaling it as I would have done in the past.

First: cappuccino protein drink

B: 2 oz. Ham/cheddar

L: 2 oz. low-fat vegetarian refried beans/cheddar

D: 2 oz. Chicken thigh

I'm trying to up my protein so will probably have a second protein drink.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day, and may all those facing Irma's baleful glare stay warm, dry, and safe. I worry about the poor animals, too, especially the wild animals and the strays, but all I can do is pray.

Good morning everyone! So glad it the weekend. I'm off Monday as well, so it's a 3 day weekend for me. Today we are headed to the park with the dogs, then a little shopping and errands and College football today. I will take a break from it and go see a movie with my son sometime today. BBQ tonight...the usual.

Accountability - 100%

QOTD = I do take time every morning to review and assess...I am a creature of habit. I love a schedule and I have my routine. It's what keeps me sane. I try to always be mindful of my plan and goals for the day, week, month, year and lifetime... I'm not always successful but it keeps me moving forward and hopefully on the right path. I need to up my game though, some things need more attention like getting back on track at the gym. ugh. I have a work trip coming up and I'm stressed about getting everything done at work and having home/pets covered since Rob's job situation is still up in the air. I think the gym will have to wait until I get back and things settle down. It's just too much right now...

9 mo post op - 176 day 4, ugh

b-coffee w/hh and splenda, SB iced cofee w/hh and splenda, scrambled eggs

l-leftover meatloaf

d-BBQ chicken - a few bites of salad

v/l - on track

e-leisurely walk with dogs

Have a good day everyone!!

Morning menu peeps! I have zero plans today. I've been on my run and just ate breakfast. Back in bed while waiting to take the boy to his piano lesson. Hubby is in Harrisburg for a church thing- so I'll have to take the boys for a haircut. (I HATE going to the barber- its man territory!) I've just gotta figure a dinner plan and pick up a few groceries and I'll be lazy the rest of the day.

Accountability: I kicked butt and took names yesterday. Totally on point, focused on loss and in control. The scale is taking itty bitty baby steps following my lead-- as long as it follows I'm good.

Qotd: advice: Learn and know your truths. You know your body & mind best- use what you know about your body and mind to build a nutrition and fitness approach that works for you. This is not a cookie cutter approach. A lot may sound alike, but the differentiating factor is YOU. But also recognize there is a fine line between being true to you and perpetuating bad habits because you just don't want to accept a change is needed. The boards are good and forcing a self-analysis... so be active on them.

Good morning. No plans today except worrying about the people in Florida. Everyone in the area where our winter home is located (Port Charlotte) is evacuating. I'm hoping they are going to be safe and that our place fares well. Nothing we can do now....

QOTD: I think most will list tracking, water, daily weighing, planning, and support (here online daily and in person as available). In addition, finding things that fill you up but have high benefits in terms of protein and other nutrients, but are relatively low calorie. Basically at the end of the day it is treating this like a job: A job to get and stay healthy.

17 months post-op (in maintenance). 61 (or fewer) work days to retirement.

B: eggbeaters, cottage cheese, and Canadian bacon

L: tuna salad, pickles, and cottage cheese

D: ? Probably going out

S: protein bar

Morning!

Today is a lazy Saturday. Just doing some house work, reading (currently ready Julia Child's memoir), and maybe some grocery shopping.

QUOTD: I'm still early out but my number one tip is to actively talk to yourself, instead of passively letting yourself talk to you. What I mean is don't just let that inner voice say "screw it! I'm already a failure, might as well eat that cake!" Instead actively say "I'm not where I want to be, and yes that's a bummer, but that cake will hurt me more than it will help. So no, I won't eat that cake". You really have to be vigilant about those thoughts that just pop up in your head. If they're not healthy thought, actively talk to yourself.

Menu: like I said lazy day.

M1: half Syntrax coffee (I love this brand Oh my gosh)

M2: cottage cheese with sf BBQ sauce

M3: half Syntrax fuzzy navel

M4: maybe some homemade chili sans meat (thinking going vegetarian for a bit, meat and me just don't get along right now)

M5: nightly cup of chicken bone broth.

V: totally forgot to do Patches yesterday.

E: walk or swim depending.

Mornin' menu friends!

went to sunrise yoga this morning. They haven't had it in six weeks because the instructor has been abroad, and evidently no one wants to sub for a 7:00 a.m. class on a Saturday (I wonder why??!). I'm so glad it's back!!

Went to the farmer's market and am currently at a coffee shop with my husband - reading the paper and playing around on the computer. We're meeting friends for lunch at noon, then we're off to the town where my husband's new job is, so he can show me his office and leave some boxes of stuff there. Not sure what's on tap for tonight...

QOTD: definitely coming to OH daily and posting. I am very sure I would never has been this successful without OH, and esp this menu board!

2 years 3 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt, fresh raspberries & blueberries

S: coffee with half & half, vanilla pumpkin latte protein/Miralax shake (boy did I ever suck that down fast - it was terrific!

L: going to a Mediterranean place - probably chicken kabobs or chicken shawarma with tomato & cucumber salad

D: if we're home, then probably chicken fajitas (just the meat & vegetables - maybe some plain Greek yogurt (as a stand in for sour cream))

maybe another yogurt later - or a SF protein pudding pop

ex - yoga (done!)
