6 Week update
A lot has gone on the past 6 weeks from feeling like I have lost my mind for having WLS to everything will be ok and then back again. I have had so much trouble with eating. I no longer like the taste of food anymore don't want to be around it at all, but I know that I have to force myself to eat to stay healthy and when I do eat I get so sick I just go to bed. These past few weeks I have not been able to enjoy life like I wanted to so the emotions have been all over.
Last Wednesday I started having trouble keeping food down. Thought it was just heartburn it's hard to tell nowadays, but that evening when the water didn't go down I knew there was a problem. Called the surgeon and he said to wait it out for the evening and if not better by morning I would need to come in and he might have to go and take a look with the scope. Thursday morning I tried some milk and it would not go down at all. Since I am the person that falls into that 5% I had to have the scope and had a stricture. I am happy to report that I am now feeling better and able to get fluids and food down so much better. My husband thinks maybe my opening was small from the get go and that is why I have had so much trouble from the start.
The good news is I'm DOWN 50LBS. That's so hard to believe. As hard as I have tried on so many other diets I never lost that much. My clothes are starting to fall off people are starting to notice and most important is the pain in my feet is almost gone.
I'm hoping the 6 week mark is where things start to turn around and the emotions want be all over the place anymore.
Sorry about your stricture. Hopefully it'll stay open this time and it'll stay better!
The taste of foods should change as you progress out with time. I remember being so sad that I didn't enjoy things at first, I truly was most saddened by not liking wings... but I'm here to tell you that with time, your tastebuds go back to loving it all - a blessing and a curse!
Hang in there, it'll get better.
