What's on your menu today (Wednesday) RNY'ers?
Teena! It looks like you're doing wonderfully. If I remember correctly, your surgery was a bit after mine. Looks to me like you're cruising right along. I derailed for a bit....going through divorce, all that jazz...but I'm back on track now! Just stay the course, and you'll sail right on through!
I'm glad to be back here!

Mine was in January. Thanks Kandace- and good for you for getting back on track. They say that's half the battle but I think it's more than half. I hope things are well and you guys are settling in to new routines. Xo
RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.
77 lbs lost and counting!
Losing the regain! I got this!
Things are going well. Our newest adjustment is being back to school for my three littles!!! They're growing so fast! They really aren't used to not being at the lake property during the week and every weekend like we were during the summer.
The back on track thing is tough, but it helps that I am a much happier person than I was just a few months ago. I went through the normal "blues" that you have when a marriage is over. That led to a little (ok..a lot) of comfort eating, mostly carbs. It's a monster that you have to keep in check. I do, sometimes, treat myself, but I keep it to a minimum. I still try to make the treats healthy options, but I do know now what are triggers for me.
AND I'M HERE TO TELL YOU THIS: I always said that transfer addiction wouldn't happen to me... Keep your eye out for the signs of this beast!!! It can take hold in a hurry, and before you know what hit, you have a full-blown problem. I didn't realize what was going on for about a month, then it dawned on me that I was turning into what I said I never would be.
Make wise choices, y'all!

Sorry you had to go through a divorce. That's tough business! But I'm glad to hear you are happier! Also even happier to hear that you got ahold of the transfer addiction and nipped it in the bud!

Morning! It's been a week since I posted. I was in Michigan for Labor Day visiting friends that I hadn't seen in 3 years. It was so good. We actually became close friends because the two of us where on a trip together living in Africa for six months.
The trip was a blast. 7 of us rented a cabin near Lake Michigan. Great time riding bikes, playing catchphrase at a vineyard and winery (probably annoyed everyone else visiting oops), and just talking amongst other things. Seriously, refreshed my soul.
And I'm proud to say that I didn't eat of plan at all. Hooray! Also, I got to know a guy that I'm sort of interested in a little bit better. Double Hooray! Haha
QUOTD: I have a double name: Mary Katherine, but I go by MK. If I remember right it means Bitter for Mary and Sweet for Katherine. Sort of funny. I suppose it fits me, I have moments of bitterness and moments of sweetness. Hopefully more sweetness.
Menu: I'm allowed to slowly start transitioning from puréed (honestly, my least favorite phase on the plan) to soft foods. I'm a little nervous but I can't stay here forever.
4 months post op.
M1: half of Syntrax Mocha with ho****er (I'm in LOVE with Syntrax, easily the best protein I've had)
M2: 1 egg, scrambled with 1/4 cup of fairlife milk and 1/4 cup of cheese
M3: 1/2 cup cottage cheese (not blended praise God!) with 1 tablespoon sugar free BBQ sauce
M4: 1/2 cup Squash Soup with sour cream, cheese, and 1 tblspoon of isopure protein unflavored
M5: 1/2 cup cottage cheese
M6: Other 1/2 of Syntrax Mocha
E: none. But tomorrow I start a workout boot camp for women. I did it before and loved it! Hopefully it will be even better with 95lbs off my body.
I was excited to see that my weight drop from last week is still here, so maybe it is REAL?!? It must have been that Boston lobster?
[EDITED TO ADD QOTD]
QOTD- My first name means something like 'gentle honey' which is not me at all, although I had honey colored hair as a kid, and I was loved by all animals - I would have a trail of dogs, cats, even cows following me around my grandparents farm... My maiden name is "Gross" which is a far better fit!!!
5 mo post RNY/155lbs/Weight-loss Stage

L- LF cottage cheese and protein powder
D- Portion of a birthday meal and desert with 2 oz of carb dense beverage.

Last night I walked the dog for 90 minutes and did a little jogging, tonight I'm going to the rec center for an orientation on the cardio equipment, plus I'll swim laps.
I hope my vauge posting on dinner is an acceptable option. I'm counting every calorie and tracking every macro to keep on track. Weight loss is slower than I would like, but still dropping and muscle mass is increasing in both % and also in weight. My original goal was to not LOSE muscle mass so I'm pretty happy to see the net increase in lean muscle :) My bariatric team says that increasing total muscle mass is harder after 40, and I just turned FIFTY last month so I think this is an indication that my efforts on the exercise front have been successful! Also I must be getting in enough protein!
I'm now at my surgeon's goal, and 40 lbs from my personal goal! At the rate I'm losing I won't make my personal goal by the 10mo mark, but I'm on track to hit it by 15 mo post op (assuming a continuing decrease in monthly losses).

I had to be at work early today and the desk was insane (first day of classes...), so this is the first time I've had an opportunity to post.
Ruthie the cat is much better today - actually, she gradually got better yesterday and even ate a little five minutes before we left for the vet's office (of course...). The vet said she had a bit of glucose in her urine, but she had a ton of blood tests just three weeks ago and everything checked out, so she thinks it might be too much prednisone - so we're cutting back starting tonight. She also said it might be good to give her a little Miralax once in awhile in case the nausea was due to constipation. It's pretty common in older cats. We sure have plenty of Miralax lying around :-) But thankfully it was nothing serious, and she seems to have rebounded.
QOTD: my legal first name is Patricia. It means "noble" (like the patrician class in Rome or wherever). I've learned to despise the name because it is SO mid-century. My siblings have very classic names, but mine, no. Pretty much every Patricia on earth is 40-70 years old. Sort of like all the Debbie's and Tammy's and Sandy's. If I were going to pick my own name, I'd go with a classic one. I use my husband's surname (although I used my maiden name for the first 10 or so years of our marriage). It doesn't mean anything, but there are lots of folks with this name who live in and around Naples, Italy (where...ta da!....his grandfather was born). There are also some of us in and around Worcester, Massachusetts (where....ta da!...his father was born). My birth surname is one of those Scandinavian patronyms, where they (used to) change their surnames every generation (e.g., Johnson, Richardson).
