Good morning :)
I have a phone interview this afternoon and then my mom and I are going to do some shopping. We got a ton of house stuff done yesterday and I learned how to change the blade and use the reciprocating saw. I chopped up a bunch of branches that our neighbours had left on our driveway when we were away.
QOTD: DH subscribed to Spotify so I use that sometimes, and I also have the radio Canada app which lets me stream different stations. I love music. I always have it playing in the car or when I'm cleaning the kitchen. I've heard people talk about listening to podcasts and audio books, but I don't think I could listen to those. I need to try them out though.
Accountability: I was great up until we went to the store late last night. I had a couple bites of chocolate and a protein bar. We stayed up late and I got hungry again so I had pepperoni and cheese.
Post-op 2.5 years today!! So hard to believe...
Breakfast - protein shake
Snack - turkey sausage
Lunch - homemade beef stew with Swiss chard
Snack - Greek yogurt
Dinner - probably more stew because the crockpot is full
Snack - protein shake
All water and vits.
took the day off today since I didn't have any meetings. DH starts his new job tomorrow, so he's off, too - YAY! Taking one of the cars to the body shop in a few minutes to have the part replaced that the woman ran into last month. Then probably out for coffee. Our oldest kitty (age 18) isn't eating, so I'll call the vet when they open at 8:00. I hope she's OK...she's been in amazing health for an 18-year-old cat. Last time she was in, the vet said she may be one of those lucky kitties who lives to be 22 or 23. I hope whatever she has is just a bug...this really came out of the blue.
QOTD: I always have the radio on when I'm in the car, but I channel surf most of the time. I'll listen to anything. I suppose I drift to classic rock most often (1960s - 1970s), but I get really tired of it sometimes. There's nothing I really *dislike*.
2 years 3 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt, raspberries
S: coffee with half & half, SF pumpkin vanilla protein shake (hooked on these!)
L: either Caprese salad or Empie egg salad in a FlatOut FoldIt
D: grilled ribs, corn, and peaches
probably another yogurt later on tonight
I blame NPR on making me an extremist moderate! Now when ever friends start debating politics I'm all "There's a LOT MORE TO THAT ISSUE!" Hearing intelligent arguments on both sides of most issues plus lots of background makes life so much more complicated LOL!

I agree! I don't get people who complain that NPR is "leftist". They obviously don't listen to it. They really do attempt to cover all sides, or all responsible opinion, anyway (as opposed to fringe stuff). They feature a lot of very informative experts on both sides of issues. There's definitely an intellectual bent to it, but I would not call it "leftist". It seems pretty balanced to me..
thanks. Me too - she just had her annual physical about three weeks ago with complete bloodwork (they test a lot on 18-year-old cats!), so I would think (I hope...) that if it was something really serious, they would have noticed it then. But we'll see. Hopefully it's just a bug or something easily fixed like a UTI. We're taking her in this afternoon.
