Good morning :)

Nothing planned out for today but lots of things on my to-do list that I could check off. I'm hoping the weather is nice and we can start getting the backyard ready for fall.

Accountability: I thought I had been doing really well lately with cutting down on carbs and focusing on protein, but I just weighed myself and things haven't budged at all. Very frustrating. I will continue along. We have cleaned out nearly all the carby things from the house and I'm on a mission not to buy any more!!

QOTD: so depressing... I haven't read a real book in years. In fact last year I donated about 80% of my book collection because I just haven't been reading and we don't have the space. I love books and have a bunch on Kobo that I want to read, but I'm not getting into them.

Post-op two years, five months.

Breakfast - protein shake

Snack - turkey pepperoni

Lunch - turkey sausage

Snack - Greek yogurt, nuts

Dinner - something with ground beef

Snack - protein shake

All water and vits.

Good Morning and Happy Labor Day, Janet and Menu Family!

My plans today are pain management. I got an intense sharp pain yesterday in my lower left back and I can hardly stand upright or move around. If it isn't better tomorrow I'm going to go to the doctor because this is agony!

QOTD: The last book I read was a book titled "Pigeons". I have a rescued street pigeon we've had as a pet for the past 20 years and he is simply delightful! I was hoping the book would focus more on pigeons' personalities & intelligence, which it did some, but a lot of it was boring stuff about racing homing pigeons and pigeon history. The book I read right before that was "A Dog's Purpose" and it was WONDERFUL! But then I LOVE books about dogs so I knew I would love it before I even opened the cover.

Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 70, Calories - 1,010, Carbs - 87.

B: prosciutto & mozzarella sticks

L: chicken stir fry

D: hamburger patty with melted cheese

S: light & fit Greek yogurt, prosciutto & mozzarella sticks

E: Usually I take the dogs for a walk, but I don't know if my back pain will let me walk today.

Have a great day everyone!

~ Karen

Karen, get the pain checked out. You can't be in agony like that.

sorry to hear about your back - back pain is awful!! I've been dealing with lower back pain myself lately - in fact, I spent last night on a heating pad - and I'm still on it. Ugh! (the heat does help, though...)

Thanks, Trish! Great suggestion, I'll look in the all closet and see if I can find a heating pad.

Feel better. Gentle stretches and if you can an Epsom salt bath.

i have a series of stretches I got years ago from PT that I do when my back is out. Works miracles. Maybe google some? But do gently.
