What's on your Sunday Menu RNYers?
Morning everyone!
Well, I had a change of plans yesterday. Instead of playing tourist, I ended up helping to install baseboards in someone's home hahaha. Not quite as fun, but I have to say, it was a major NSV. Crawling around on the floor and getting up and down a hundred times would have been pretty much impossible a year ago, and I'd be in so much pain today.
Today im feeling so greatful for my surgery and for all of you!
Qotd: I'm feeling mushy and sentimental today. What are you all greatful for? Doesn't have to be wls related. I'm also greatful for having an awesome husband. He's the most patient supportive person I've ever met. Always up for pretty much any crazy idea that comes into my head.
Accountability: my calories were pretty low yesterday. my mother in law really seems to struggle with my diet. She said she made hamburger soup for lunch. Great, sounds meaty. But it was actually almost all barley and potato! I'm glad I doubled up on how many protein shakes I brought. For dinner yesterday we bought and grilled a huge piece of salmon, so I'm good for the rest of the weekend. She struggles with protein, so I get it. But it's still a little annoying hahaha
Also, I ate 1/2 an apple yesterday. It's been at least a year. Guys, it was magical!hahah like the best thing ever! I never understood those healthy people who look forward to a piece of fruit, like it's a dessert. But I kinda get it now.
menu:
B: coffee and premier
L: leftover salmon and veggies
D: were going to a fancy 50th wedding anniversary, and I forget what we rsvp'd on the menu. But I'll be having the protein and veg only.
have a good one!

Good morning weekenders!
Accountability: Yesterday was a difficult day food-wise. We visited my mom and while she tries, she always makes too many starches and not enough protein for me. I did have some fish and carrots, which were good. I also had a couple of pieces of butternut squash with rosemary. A bit more carby than I usually eat, but not bad. I also sometimes stress eat on the trip home from her house. I ended up having 2 cheese sticks. The scale is up and I assume that it has to do with sodium and carbs, but I'm not sure. Oh well, it will straighten out over the next few days.
QOTD: I am really grateful for my surgery and the health that I have gotten with all of the hard work. I am off all of my diabetes and high blood pressure meds and my body feels healthier and stronger than it has for many years. I am also grateful for my home and my family. They have been so supportive over these last few months while I've recovered from surgery and had so many changes.
Menu:
Breakfast: hard boiled egg, TJ's ham
Snack: Fuzzy Navel protein shake
Lunch: TJ's chicken sausage, baby carrots
Snack: 2 oz turkey breast
Dinner: pork loin, cauliflower
Exercise: 45 minutes on the treadmill

Good morning!
QOTD: This surgery has made me grateful for ALL THE THINGS! I'm grateful for the surgery and the freedom it has given me. I'm grateful for my husband and kids who have been so supportive to me through it all. I'm grateful for our place in life that has afforded us so many luxuries, like the ability to travel and the option for me to have plastic surgery someday. Heck, I'm even grateful for my friends who at this point are barely putting up with all my gratefulness.
Accountability: I've been adding in something at the end of the day to meet my calorie goal. It's mostly been Halotop Ice Cream. I realized last night I really didn't even want it, and that's a poor situation to be in. So, today I am trying to get some more calorie dense foods at each meal so I have less to make up in snacks. Today's plan gets me over 1,100 calories with no snacks and that means I only have about 200 to make up somewhere to meet this week's calorie goal.

Good morning guys!
I thought I'd actually post instead of lurking today - I feel like ever since I had surgery life has gotten so much more busy, but I think that's partly because I actually have energy now to do so much more! NSV yesterday...we went for a bike ride. It's been quite some time since I was on my bike, we took the same route as we did on the last ride only this time I was able to ride the whole thing without stopping...last time I had to stop halfway through and walk back, so it felt really good to be able to do it. Also my butt didn't hurt after riding and speaking of butts, I suddenly have butt bones that hurt if I sit on hard surfaces
QOTD: I'm grateful for my mom, I just came home from spending 2 weeks visiting with my parents, the second week was at my mom's and it was just really nice to sit and relax with her, we talked about lots of things and I just tried to soak as much of it in as I could because I know in my heart that I won't have her forever.
Accountability: I was pretty good overall yesterday but coming back from 2 weeks being gone means our pantry is pretty bare, I finished off the cottage cheese yesterday and I'm going to have to have protein shakes until I get to the store later this morning.
Menu:
B: Tea and premier protein
L: Yogurt
D: TBD
E: Lifting day!
Have a good one :)

Good morning! I love Sundays in the middle of a 3 day weekend. Ah, so relaxing!
Sorry you didn't get your touristy day! We did! We took an impromptu day trip up to Maine which is 2 - 3 hours away. First we went to a Shaker Village. If you don't know the Shakers, they were a religion in the 1700-1900s that had utopian villages where people lived together in work, prayer and community. They were especially active along the East coast in New England so there are quite a few villages nearby and I really enjoy visiting. The one we went yesterday to has the last two living Shakers in the world. It's still their home and a working farm. Very cool. After that, we went to a Portland Sea Dogs baseball game. Fun day!
Accountability: Well, the menu I planned didn't happen since we were on the road. I didn't eat much all day but then had some junk at the ball field. I stayed below my calorie goal but carbs were off the rails.
So funny what you said about the apple. I had one a few weeks ago at a conference I was at, and yeah--soooo delish!
Today I am just copying yesterday's planned menu since I didn't actually eat it.

As soon as I cross the border into Maine something magical and wonderful comes over me. I get that feeling no where else. One of the best trips in my life was driving all the way up Route 1 from Kittery to the Canadian border. I feel a road trip coming on...
