I've been wanting to try some curry recipes but a lot of the recipes im seeing have coconut milk in the recipes if they are served hot. Does coconut milk have a lot of sugar in it? is there an alternative milk to use that would work in curry recipes?

You want to use unsweetened coconut milk, not that sweet stuff people use for making mixed drinks. Check the international foods section at Walmart, they have a couple of different brands there.

Or if you don't want the 13 grams of fat per serving you can substitute skim milk powder water and a bit of coconut flavoring. Works great !

that's what I do......or just plain skim milk and a little coconut extract. Although the milk powder is a good idea - it would make it thicker

Coconut milk has the good fats in them. Fats that helps us burn more if our own fat. Use the normal coconut milk in recipes. Any skim milk - has fat removed and leaves behind a lot of sugar. Sugar and carbs in general will not only get stored in our body as day, but that prevents our body from burning our own fat. Using skim milk anytime by anyone is really really bad idea.
