It was 46 this morning when Lily and I headed out for our 3.7 miles so I was glad I grabbed a jacket. We'll do another mile after supper too. QOTD I love to explore anywhere. I especially want to go to New England and Wyoming but anywhere will do. When hubby and I we have cowboy shoots scheduled certain places on the weekend but midweek we really have no set plans. We stopped at lots of neat state and national parks,Louisa May Alcott's house,National Air Force Museum in Dayton(really cool) and Mammoth cave to name a few. I think I should have been a nomad because I love just wandering especially with no set plan. Post op 5 years and weight at 118.2 today. Accountability was great because I was busy getting the camper cleaned and ready to head out Tuesday. Not totally done but making good progress. Heres the food plan for maintenance today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with peanut butter added L 1 c chili with cheese D 31/2 oz strip steak 1/2 c green beans S 5 oz cottage cheese with 1 T sugar free pumpkin butter. Have a great day everyone and make some smart and conscious choices that move you closer to your goal.

Cowboy shoots ? How cool does that sound ? Are you expert horseback stunt people? Awesome!

They are SASS shoots(single action shooting society. Shooters dress in cowboy gear and shoot single action revolvers, rifles and shotguns at fixed steel targets. Contests are timed and targets are shot in a set order. I'm not shooting yet--need to practice more--but I do keep score for them. Heres a picture of one of my outfits.

this is the last day of DH's part-time jobs (he's been working at two public libraries), so NO MORE weekend work! YAY!! He's back to the old 8-5 full-time grind starting Wednesday. I'll be so glad to have him back evenings and weekends!! We're both off for the next three days (includes Tuesday), so we may have to take a day trip somewhere....and grill out another day (haven't grilled out all summer). Not sure what I'll do today - other than go to the farmer's market and go to the butcher's to pick up some meat. I may be meeting a friend for lunch, but that's tentative. I need to go to the gym, too. I also need to make yogurt and stuff for lunches next week, but that can wait a couple of days.

QOTD: I need to start traveling again before I get too old to do it. I figure I have about 20 good years left, but I have so many places I want to go! Lately I've been thinking about Maine and places northward - Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, ....

2 years 3 months out (as of tomorrow):

B: Greek yogurt, fresh raspberries

S: coffee with half & half, SF pumpkin protein shake

L: may be out with a friend, in which case, not sure. If I'm here, maybe Caprese salad

D: celery soup, salad, some kind of protein

ex: recumbent cross-trainer, upper body strength training

Morning folks! I've been on my run and showered and dressed. Today I tried my hand at making steel cut oatmeal. They smell divine and tasted good. Nuttier than I'm used to- but nothing that would turn me off from making it again. I want to see how the remainder reheats tomorrow- that'll be the true test, I've never liked reheated hot cereal. Carbs are high for a serving, but- its oatmeal, not a cookie.

No plans today- I really, really want to vegetate. BJ's, school supply shopping and dry cleaners is what I need to take care of, but I have tomorrow and Monday too. I want to search for more recipes to try out.

Qotd: i want to explore New Orleans and Atlanta, I've never been to either. And I also wan to check out the Amish country here PA.

197.5 today, 2.4 years out

m1: 1 cup steel cut oats with raspberries

m2: 3oz tuna, boiled egg, 1oz cheese

m3: ?? Maybe bourbon chicken chunks

m4: gotta find a recipe-- preferably beef

I love my steel cut oats. I add a tablespoon of peanut butter and sometimes in the fall a teaspoon of sugarfree pumpkin butter. I love pumpkin anything!
