Issues absorbing antibiotics??

I developed a UTI after a uterine biopsy last month. I was prescribed the antibiotic Bactrim, took them as directed. My UTI symptoms resolved and I felt good. last week, I start feeling slight symptoms again. I went the doctor and I have another UTI.This time they prescribed Cipro. I asked the doctor if possibly the first infection didn't totally clear or maybe my body didn't absorb the antibiotics due to my RNY. He said that he didn't know.
So, any experience with antibiotics?? Do our bodies absorb them differently? I have never had a UTI in my life before last month. I drink my 120 ounces of water religiously.
I am miserable and just want to feel better and never want this to come back.
I believe we do. When I got lyme disease-instead of taking the antibiotics for 2 weeks, I had a higher dose for a WHOLE MONTH.
Also- if you are sexually active and not using a condom, your partner (if a man) could be re-infecting you. Due to their longer urethra, men don't experience a UTI the way we do.

Three pounds below Goal!!! Yay !
Cipro is know to cause really nasty side effects. Watch for that.
Anytime I need antibiotics I also need diflucan to help with candida overgrowth.
Candida - yeast - can also case UTI. Combine candida and bacteria - and it may be difficult to erradicate one without dealing with another.
After rny - drinking cranberry juice is no-no for me, but I still can take cranberry concentrated pills - capsules that had all the proper stuff to help my UTI but none of the sugars. Blueberries are also great for UTI. Frozen blueberries are better to have fresh, the freezing break the cells in the skin that holds most of the good stuff. Ride blueberries are the best. Small qty - even 1/2 cup mixed with some stuff can help. I am very sugar sensitive- but blueberries don't really affect me that much.
Good luck.

Thank you. I am already feeling better. My pouch seems to be tolerating the antibiotics well.

Yes, severity of symptoms decreasing. No more burning or urgency.
