Okay so, A little about me. I am 25 years old. I am almost 5 years post opp. My iron when I was pregnant was low. My doctor had told me soon after I had my son that it appeared that it had leveled out and I was fine. I recently had blood tests done due to a random 10 pound weight gain. The blood tests results were uploaded and my dr. sent me a letter asking me to come back in and have the tests redone due to the fact he thought there may have been an error. So, I went back in. I will attached the results of BOTH tests. Is there anything that jumps out to you? Some of my results were in red. This means they are not where they need to be. My doctor hasn't contacted me in regards to the results, and his office takes awhile to get ahold of. So I am just looking for some input until I talk to him.

To me - though I am not a medical doc, looks like you are anemic

You have a low iron - ferritin - try to see hematologist. You probably need iron infusions ASAP.

did they test your B12?

Yep! My b12 says it's normal. Well, not red. I don't know what normal is. The number is 502 pg/ml.

If I had those iron numbers, I'd be camped out on a hematologist's doorstep.

I ended up having a blood transfusion and then iron supplements with numbers like these.

edited to add: yes you are seriously anemic and snemia will not cause a 10 pound gain. Eating too many calories and the wrong foods cause a 10 pound gain.

I am anemic but its not so bad. I have had iron infusions before my surgery. But since i havent had any.

My hematologist told me she looks at all the numbers combined and she doesnt focus on just one number IE iron saturation which for me is always non existent. Low level B-12 and anemia go hand and hand at times. Good luck with it just remember dont focus on the numbers you have in one set. Let the numbers over time speak for your progress. Try different therapies if needed and go back for more blood draws.
