Update: OH app and Nutritionist today
I realize, and that's why I put the disclaimer first. I have no idea if my regular methods would help, but I do find that I have RH episodes if I raise my blood glucose too fast after a low. A lot of diabetics can take a swig of OJ but I'd be a dang yo-yo for the rest of the day

I was an insulin dependent diabetic before -- so I get what you are reading and how to handle low blood sugars as a pre-op diabetic.
IT IS NOT THE SAME THING AT ALL.
Do not confuse hypoglycemia with REACTIVE hypoglycemia after WLS.
Fruit juice = NO.
Not now, not EVER.
Additionally, I don't consider under 70 to be an emergency.
I eat less than 40 carbs in a WHOLE DAY.

I agree, 70's are normal for me after WLS. I'm not taking diabetic medications to bring my sugars down, so blood sugar in the 70's aren't really an emergency. When I was diabetic, I knew that my meds would be working to bring me down faster, so if I was at 70 I was freaking out. Now, as long as I'm not eating something to put me into RH, I'm okay with it and will eat at my regular scheduled time.
I was insulin dependent as well, and honestly, I used it as an excuse to eat things I shouldn't have been eating.
Thank you for this. If I feel normal and am at 70, I wont flip out.
Eating carbs over the past 7 days, I have managed to gain 6 lbs. 6 freaking lbs!
Like who does that!>!> Well me.
And I think everyone on this thread understands how much I do NOT want the scale to head up. I want it to go down. Safely down.
