Update: OH app and Nutritionist today
Hi gang,
I got a new phone. Does OH have an app?
Also, today is my first appointment with the nutritionist. Been reading up on it and small meals that are protein-forward (low carb/low gi) seem to be recommended for hypoglycemia.
From what I read at mayo clinic website, I need to test my blood sugar before and after exercise and eat 15-30 g carbs (i.e. half a cup of fruit juice or sugared soda) if my blood sugar is less than 70.
I have so many questions. Like do you eat if your stomach is empty but you blood sugar is around 100? I dont think I should but here it is...lunch time!

Three pounds below Goal!!! Yay !
OH has been working on an app since early 1987. Should be ready any day.
Be careful of reading online remedies for hypoglycemia/reactive hypoglycemia. They were written for non-WLS people. Sugar, for us, is just going to trigger a cascade of up and down blood sugar. Stick to advice from folks with real-world WLS experience.

Hypoglycemia is different from Reactive Hypoglycemia. Make sure you know what you are dealing with because the "fixes" are very different.
I suffer from Reactive Hypoglycemia and fruit juice or sugared soda would set me up for a big spike and crash in my blood sugar. To control my RH I have to eat a protein with a small amount of carbs and fat. A dollop of peanut butter on a cracker is my go to.

Looks like part of your post got cut off. OH chokes if you use "greater than" or "less than" symbols in your post.

Speaking from a diabetic perspective, but not a WLS one, if I'm hungry and my blood sugars are around 100, I eat a small low-carb high-protein meal as normal.
If I'm not hungry, but sugars are dropping below 70ish, I start getting shakes, clammy, mild brain fog, and I will have a few berries (like, 4-5 raspberries) or half a graham cracker. Wait 15 minutes and test again. If sugars have come up, I'll follow the carb item with a bit of protein (cheese stick is usually my go-to or some lunch meat). If I'm still low, I'll have a few more berries/cracker/whatever. But always follow with protein once the numbers are around 85-90. I don't use things like fruit juice, candy, etc that a lot of people use because I find that leads to a spike, which is also not fun, because then you'll be on an uncomfortable see-saw ride for a few hours at least.
Low blood sugar can be dangerous, and I'd rather ingest a few extra unplanned carbs than let my sugars drop too low.
