What's on your menu today (Monday) RNYers?
Had a good weekend and got some chores done around the house. Lily and I already have our 3.7 miles in this morning and will do another mile after supper too. Goals are to continue to stay at goal weigh and to get comfortable shooting a shotgun and rifle so I can start cowboy shooting with hubby. Accountability was good yesterday. I was busy so there were no extra bites taken. Post op 5 years tomorrow and weight at 118.4 today. Here's the food plan for maintenance today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1 c ham and beans-last of leftovers D 31/2 oz ground turkey with salsa and cheese 1/2 c green beans S 5 oz Greek yogurt 1 T granola. Have a great day everyone and make some smart and conscious choices that move you one step closer to your goals!
Morning folks! My weekend was pretty laid back. I think I've pretty much finished up back to school shopping. Only thin I want to get them now is a quality set of sets- I really like Abercrombie's, and Gap's styles. And the older will find out what he needs in terms of supplies on Thursday.
Accountability- nothing to report here.
QOTD: For personal goals- I set goals every three months. I'll have achieved my fitness goal (taking a fitness class every Friday of the Summer) as of this Friday. My nutrition goal was 55g/carbs per day; that kind of fell apart. Not sure if I'll entertain that one again. My next set of goals will carry me through Thanksgiving. Nutritionally, I'm trying new recipes, initially I was shooting for one a week, but I've been having fun with it and have been doing up to 3 in a week. Fitness wise I'm not sure- I'm toying with adding weights/resistance at home. Or I'll turn my current fitness class into another running day, if there is enough daylight as the season changes. Professionally I should get my SHRM certification, but I really don't want to take the course. School is about to start and my focus needs to be on supporting my kids as needed. I don't like to look at the long term- 3 months is as far ahead as I'll look forward.

busy weekend, but nothing of interest. Eating was fine, but still feeling a bi****erlogged this morning. Looks like I'll need to cut my sodium back a bit (although feeling waterlogged keeps me from eating, so maybe this isn't a bad thing??)
Starting what I'm planning to be my LAST FALL SEMESTER this week. Yay!!!
QOTD: my goal always is to get my butt to the gym! I always have good intentions, but sometimes things intervene and other times I just don't manage to make it over there for one reason or another. ARRGGHH!! Monday nights I usually have yoga, but I have to close the library tonight so I won't make it in time. Although there is no reason why I can't GO TO THE GYM since it doesn't close until 10:30 pm!! Sheeesh!! Another goal is to have a retirement plan in place....or be close to it. I won't be able to sit around once I retire. That'd be fun for about two weeks, then I'll be climbing the walls. I'll need some kind of structure planned before I jump ship.
2 years 2 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt, fresh blueberries & mango pieces
S: coffee with half & half, protein/Miralax shake
L: chicken salad (made with plain Greek yogurt and a little reduced-fat mayo), FlatOut FlipIt
D: ear of corn, some kind of protein
maybe some celery soup or yogurt later if I can afford the calories
ex: YES!
Good morning everyone. I've not been great about getting on here the past couple of weeks, but once the kids get back to school next week, it should be easier to establish routines. Which brings me to the QOTD!
Dec 31, 2017 will be just shy of my 1 year surgiversary. My weight loss has been very slow the last few weeks, but I'm still plugging away and of course would like to see it pick up speed again. I'm at 186.3 as of this morning and would like to be at 150 by the end of the year. I think my goal weight will be in the 130s but I'm not sure. I had thought it would be great to be there by my surgery date but I don't think that's realistic. 150 is about 9 lbs a month so I am sure that I can do that. I have 2 more goals- 1 is to make exercise a habit. I'm quite happy with my Beachbody workouts at home, but I want to be consistent. So I'm aiming that I will do my workout every day, 95% of the time. Basically, I don't want to miss more that 2-3 days per month. And the last goal (Thank you Erin (Insertfitness) for the reminder) is the budget. I want to have a budget and stick to it. Real estate has really spiked up here this past year, but DH and I do want to eventually own our own home again. This shouldn't be an unrealistic goal and a budget is necessary to make that happen. I'm actually hoping that eventually we will be able to buy the house we're renting because we love it.
Menu:
Breakfast- Kelly's egg salad
Lunch - Leftover Chinese food- Beef with vegetables
Supper- Pork Roast- not sure what else
Exercise- Shift Shop or 21 day fix
Have a great day everyone!
RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.

Good morning everyone! I had a very relaxing and restful weekend. While I still have a cold, I am feeling much better and plan to go to the gym today.
Accountability - ate totally on plan yesterday
QOTD - I don't have a end of year goal, so I will take this opportunity to make one! I'd like to be at goal by the end of the year. It's a stretch - 40 pounds - so 10 pounds a month, but if I keep losing as I am, it is possible! I get the whole mental health thing Daisy although I am in a different place with it. I'm getting a lot of skinny talk from people lately that I need to stop losing and it's really messing with me. For me at 5'4" I don't think that size 14/180 lbs is skinny (although I used to and would have given my left foot to be this size pre-op). On top of that I still feel really fat. When I fold my clothes I am surprised at how HUGE I think my size 14's and large tops are, as if they were my old size 24/3x. Seriously, why is that?
9 mo post op - 180 this morning
b- coffee w/hc and splenda, SB iced coffee w/half and half and splenda, HB eggs
l- pork chop w/SF terriaki
d-BBQ chicken
v/l started
e- cardio/weights
Have a good day all!

I am having the exact same issue. People keep making comments about my weight that make me very uncomfortable. I felt bad about myself for being overweight and now that I'm almost in a healthy BMI range everyone wants to say things about how I need to stop losing weight and that I'll be skinnier than them and that's not healthy etc. which also makes me feel bad about myself. It's like I'm under everyone's microscope for either being too fat or too skinny. I could go on and on haha. Hang in there! we've got this. We didn't go through all we've been through to not get to our goals!

It makes me feel bad too. Some I think it's because I am or about to be smaller than them and that makes them uncomfortable. Others are just so used to seeing me at 300lbs that by comparison, I am skinny to them. My boyfriend thinks I am getting too bony. These words - skinny, slim, bony, small...so foreign. I just want to be healthy. I will know when that is. Others on here have said it just takes a while for people to get used to the new you and eventually they will see you as normal.

It's so frustrating. Having comments made about how "skinny" we are is just as offensive as fat comments in my opinion. It just goes back to the root of people looking at the outside and not focusing on what really matters. I just want to be healthy and feel good about myself for once. I'm still considered overweight at my current weight so the fact that people are already telling me that I'm getting too small is stressing me out. I shouldn't care about what they think or have to say but it still bothers me.
