A great morning!

Woke up this morning and weighed in at 267. That's 28 lbs down from 296 is what they had listed for me a little before surgery. For the first time in years I didn't wear sweats to the store. I was in a pair of pants that used to feel a lot tighter than they do now. I see some of the weight changes in my face for sure. But as of yet I just can't see it in the rest of my body.

I know it's happening because OMG trying to get comfortable in bed, or sitting down in a chair or couch.. I can tell the difference. It feels like I sit on a bony butt with how much discomfort it gives after awhile. Also, no one told me that just loosing 28 lbs would make me feel like my hands and feet will never be warm again. It's no joke.. I'm sitting in sweats and a long sleeve shirt right now typing this.

I'm 57 lbs lighter from the highest weight I've ever been, but it's really... REALLY hard to see a difference for me. A few days ago though, I was washing dishes, and my husband comes up behind me and goes... "Baby, do you see this?" I asked him what, he went "I see this beautiful hourglass figure starting" And then proceeds to show me with his hands running them along my sides and down to my hips.

For the first time in years I felt pretty, I couldn't see the changes but my husband does. I never blushed so hard in my life! So here is to the continue hope that my journey keeps going, and that someday.. even I can see the differences that my husband so wonderfully pointed out.

It takes time to see the difference in our selves. Hubby started taking lots of pictures with me in them along with other people. For some weird reason I could see it in the picture but not in the mirror. Your journey will go as far as you want as long as you keep following the rules. I credit posting here daily when I have Internet and the accountability it brings to getting below my goal weight and staying there for over 4 years. When I started my journey at 273 after a lifetime of obesity I could never imagine being 118 to 120--but I am. Remember all these non scale victories so the hard choices are a lot easier. It's so worth it!

I had my husband take pictures of me every month on my surgery date until I hit maintenance at about 18 months out. It was hard to see a difference from month to month, but when comparing pictures that were four months apart - or six months - or a year - holy moley!! Huge difference!

Have your husband take pictures every month - from front, back, and sides. Then it'll be really easy to see your progress.

I have my surgeon's staff take pictures of me every month at my appointment. I can see in the pictures what I can't always even see in the mirror. It helps to have something to compare to.

Congrats on your big changes!

Oh gosh yes! I'm sitting here thinking... what the heck, I still have all this padding. Then my husband goes.. "Love, you fit on your chair, I used to have to put my hands under your body to reach the chair frame.. now you fit and I see frame on both sides". Waking up at 267 on 8/27/17 also made me realize that just 7 more lbs and I'll be the lowest I have ever been in almost 20 years. and only 17 more lbs until I'm 250. My first mini goal I have put myself down for.

I want this to succeed so badly, that sometimes I tear up and look at myself and I don't see these changes that my husband does and I keep thinking.. (It's not working! This was a mistake, and now I'm forever going to be sad) And I have to stop myself. Because I know it's working... I may be a little slow but it's working. I can do this, but this body dis-morphia is a horrible monster.

Still.. I could do with my body remembering that my hands and feet do not need to stay artic temps and my butt still has a LOT of padding LOL.

Congratulations on your success this far! I am down to 240 from 297. I had my surgery on May 15, 2017. I am so excited and clothing has become an issue in a different manner! I am ever so excited about that. Continued go health to you and thank you for sharing!
