What's on your Saturday menu RNYers?
Morning!
I'm feeling really good today, which is a nice change of pace. Hopefully this stricture is a thing of the past!
QUOTD: As of today I'm officially down 95lbs. But I'm really struggling to see any physical changes. I feel very little has changed. Perhaps that's because I'm still obese with a BMI of 32. It's been very depressing, as even my clothing sizes haven't changed that much. You would think that 100lbs loss would create a whole bunch of NSV's, but so far it's been minimal. Siiigh.
However, I did have one last night. I went out to a Chinese restaurant with my family (just had water). The booths are close together and my stomach usually just squeezed in, pushed up against the table. Last night it didn't even touch! Hooray!
Menu:
- Split Pea soup: high in carbs but also a fair amount of protein- not sure on the stats.
- Syntrax ice tea.
- lots of bone broth- I think I might have a new nightly routine of drinking a cup of hot bone broth before bed. It's only 30 calories and 10 grams of protein. I find it really soothing to drink it before bed, like a cup of hot coco, and it keeps the night time munchies away.
also book recommendation: for those looking for a delightful read, I highly recommend the book "Of Mess and Moxie" by Jen Hatmaker. It's a series of laugh out loud essays. It's mostly geared towards woman, but it's so funny and heart warming. Fair warning, she is a Christian- so that comes through in her writing. But it's not a Christian book. It's a book about girl power and this messy, beautiful life. Fantastic!
this is somewhat related, but I had to lose a good 70-80 lbs before people started noticing my weight loss. At some point you're going to really notice a difference. You're going to notice little things like - looking down and noticing your legs are crossed for the first time in years. As a practicing yoga person for many years, I noticed changes all the time - poses I could never do - or were difficult to get into - I could suddenly do..
Congrats on the amazing loss even though you're not feeling it yet. It will really hit you at some point and you will be amazed!

Good afternoon! Late for me today, but Ive been up since 6 am and on the move. I sell Jamberry Nail products and my team leader was in my hometown this weekend for a wedding. We met for coffee/breakfast and talked a little about Jamberry but a lot about just whatever. It was nice to meet someone I know on social media but have never met in person. The rest of today has been thrifting--hubby is down pants sizes again so we need to clothe him, and I was also looking for girls clothes. A friend of mine is going through a rough time. Her husband left her and her two girls for another woman (who apparently already has a child with him). They had been living in a house that HIS parents own and until now they've let her stay, but all the sudden she is being told she needs to go. She doesn't get support and couldn't afford to buy her girls new clothes for school, even though they're outgrowing what they have. I know she won't accept charity per se, but I bought a trunkload of clothes in her girls' sizes and I'll be giving them to her next weekend.
Qotd: none really yet, but I'm super proud of DH and his. Mows the lawn in half the time, has much more energy to do stuff like thrifting all day, haha. I bought two pair of jeans in like-new condition for less than $3 in a smaller size, so my goal Is to fit them.
Breakfast: skinny SB latte
lunch: shared snack-size boneless wings at BWW with DH. Snack size is apparently 8 wings. He ate 2, I had 6.
dinner: leftover BBQ chicken (sugar free sauce)
there might be some halo top tonight
