I made the decision a year ago to retire at the end of this year, then in April didn't think I'd make it all year. Luckily I'm literally in the countdown stage now...

these things always go faster than they think you will. Next summer might make more sense for me for a lot of reasons. Plus it gives me more time to plan out what I'm going to do with my time. We can swing it financially, and we'll be OK health-care wise, but I'm not sure I'm ready psychologically yet. I'm going to need some structure or I'll be going nuts after the first few weeks. I can take this year to plan out what I really want to do with my time - get a part time job, volunteer, get more involved with organizations, take classes, etc. I don't want something that'll fill up my entire day pretty much every day like a full-time job does, but I think it's good to have something to get up and do most days of the week - even if it's just for a couple of hours. Or that's the case for me, anyway. So this could take some time to mentally prepare...

Best of luck figuring it out - it definitely takes time to get used to the idea!

Good morning everyone! Woke up with a headache, sore throat and all congested still so I will be taking it easy today.

QOTD I have been more that a little obsessed by the bones, bumps, muscles and other pieces parts I feel that I never did before. Rob thinks I am really bony now. Still not comfortable with compliments, but a recent one made me laugh. A good co worker friend held the door for me yesterday and he said 'good morning, slim', lol. I'm starting to let down my fat girl guard in public.

Accountability - stayed on plan

9 mo post op

b-coffee and more coffee + eggs

l- meatballs w/marinara

d-BBQ chicken and/or pork chops

I know what you mean. I've been this weight for over 4 years now and I still get a goofy grin on my face when someone calls me Tiny! Usually I tell them about my surgery too. After a lifetime of obesity I never thought tiny was ever a possibility.

this sounds ridiculous, but another thing I like about being this weight is that a lot of people I haven't seen in awhile don't recognize me. There are some times I just really don't feel like talking to anyone. So when I'm having one of those days and I spot someone at the grocery store (or wherever) I know and really don't want to talk, I can just walk right on by and they don't have a clue...

Although it hasn't happened yet, I have thought the exact same thing and thought of it as a total plus!!!

Happy Weekend, everyone,

I don't have much planned at all this weekend. I wanted to spend some more time out at our camp but it's been so cold here. I'll probably just stick around town and go for a bike ride or walk.

QOTD: I think my favorite NSV was fitting into a size medium/14 pants. I was really shocked about that. Or maybe it's all the room I have around me now; the world seems bigger. My bathtub is bigger, my vehicle feels bigger, the seats and tables at the mall all feel bigger now. Third favorite, I guess, is getting to save money on nightgowns because all of my old t-shirts are huge and long enough to wear as nighties now, lol.

Breakfast: Plain greek yogurt with blueberries

Lunch: chicken salad

Supper: Not sure, some sort of protein on the BBQ

Snack: 1 cup watermelon, babybel cheese

Pre-Op Visit: Jan. 10, 2017, weight 304, surgeon: Dr. David Lindsay, St. Joe's, Toronto

1st Day of (3 weeks worth of) Optifast: Jan. 11, 2017

Surgery Date: Feb. 1st, 2017

Lol DH has been passing his favorite tshirts on to me because he can't get rid of some of them. They make comfy jammies, but after I have my own surgery I'll have shirts of my own I'll want to keep, and he'll be forced to really retire his!
