What's on your Saturday menu RNYers?
morning weekenders!
My quiet/productive work week went sideways yesterday, but I think we rallied pretty well. I work in a union office, and the variety of tasks, and curve balls that get thrown our way is pretty impressive. No two days are ever the same! Let's just say I'm looking forward to coffee and OH time this morning!
Anyone have fun plans today?we're going to spend time downtown, and take in the laser/light show thing in a new light rail tunnel they are building.
qotd: it's been a while since I've seen a round up of either new or favourite NSVs: any newbies have any fresh ones? Vets any that still stand out for you, or ones that just don't get old?
my recent ones: Bar stools! They used to be my nemesis, but I went to a brewery last weekend and realized I could sit comfortably on one now!
the other recent one: I caught myself running up the stairs at work this week, which is amazing enough, but I was also TALKING while doing it!
Its hard to reconcile that with my pre op body. Not only would there not have been running, I would have taken a break at the top of the stairs before talking so as not to sound too out of breath....and I would have avoided going up in the first place.
Accountability: good. Dinner ended up being rib steak from the butcher. My favourite meal these days
menu:
B: coffee and premier and a grilled sausage and sliced tomato I think
L/D : we'll be downtown so no idea, but protein forward as always!
happy Saturday gang!

Good Morning Erin and Menu Family!
No particular plans for the weekend.
QOTD: This past week I got to see my brother and his wife and kids whom I hadn't seen since before my surgery and they both said, "You're so skinny!" It was exciting to show off my new body to them! And a while back my daughter patted me on the shoulder and said, "Wow, Mom, you have bones!"
Accountability: Yesterday: Protein - 65, Calories - 950, Carbs - 85.
B: Prosciutto & mozzarella sticks
L: Lettuce, tomato, chicken, low cal dressing
D: Chicken alfredo
S: light & fit Greek yogurt
E: Walking the dogs around the subdivision
Have a great day everyone!

Morning Friends.... Quiet day here so far... Watching the news and thinking of all those effected by that jerk Harvey...After I have had chance to digest some coffee catch up on other online stuff yes work is included in that I will work on cleaning the house and starting to get ready to head to DC. Last night or should I say this morning my lovely daughter texted me a list of things she needs us to bring down to her. Now mind you I have been asking for this list for weeks but I guess I should not complain because usually she waits until like the day before we leave to send me her list...
QOTD: I agree with you Erin stairs for me have become a huge NSV for me. At work I have offices on two floors and used to regret having to go down to the other floor just because the it was so hard now I am looking for reasons to go up and down all day long.
Food for the day:
B: scrambled egg and sausage
L: salami and cheese
D: not sure as we are going out but I am sure protein forward.
Have a great day!!!!

Happy Saturday! I'm on my way into work, so not sure why I'm excited... but I'm bringing Grim with me and we are probably going to paint some student bathrooms. Haha. Yes our schools are kind of "all hands on deck".
Later we are meeting up with my parents to go to a food truck festival. Probably going for BBQ but I don't have the whole day mapped out, food wise. I also brought pork rinds, a protein bar, and a meat stick. The food truck festival is exciting because I grew up in the MOST boring small town. We don't even have a traffic light, and the only store is a gas station. Really! So I'm mostly going to support something fun happening, locally! It's about time!
QOTD: yesterday at work someone compared me to another coworker who is TEENY and said we are both the same size. I'm stil sure she's a lot smaller than I am but it was nice to be lumped into that category :)
Morning RNY'ers!! No 'interesting' plans. Boys are going skating today- so I'll have time to kill while they do that. I'm also going with hubby to see a nutritionist for dietary advice in light of his diabetes dx. I'm not sure if he's going trough a mantrum at the moment- but his vague indifferent personality is getting on my nerves.
Qotd: recent NSV I had was that the elevator at work was out. (I never take the elevator- it's a 3 floor building). I had a meeting in the lower level, and was walking back to my office on the 2nd level with a coworker. We were chating while walking and she was totally out of breath/sweaty. (And she is petite!) At one point that would have been me out of breath & sweaty. [Really, I would have avoided walking with anyone by saying I had to use the bathroom and I'd catch up with them.] it felt good to be able to talk, climb steps and feel perfectly normal.
195 today, 27 months out
m1: 2 eggs, ham 2oz
m2-4: not sure cause my day will be up down and around; but I have lots of protein friendly options on hand so I'll make good choices.

Sunny slightly cool morning here in Illinois and Lily and I had a wonderful 3.7 mile walk around town. We'll do another mile after supper too. Accountability was good with no extra bites. No exciting plans today just housework and yard work on the roster. QOTD being able to easily walk to do errands here in town. I've been walking up to church every Sunday to set up for coffee hour just because I can. Who is this Lady? Post op 5 years Tuesday and weight back down to 118.2 today. Here's the food plan for maintenance today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1 c ham and beans leftovers D 31/2 oz shrimp with 1/2 c green beans S 5 oz Greek yogurt with 1 T granola added. Have a great day everyone and make some smart and conscious choices that move you one step closer to your goals! Enjoy your day too.
I'm heading over to the farmer's market in a bit and then meeting a friend for coffee. After that, ???? I need to hit the grocery store sometime this weekend and make celery soup and some kind of beef stew for DH's lunches next week (found a recipe for a Jamaican one that looks promising....).
QOTD: so many - mostly being in situations where I'm feeling thin and bony (I'm actually more "normal" than thin, but bony - yes). The most shocking thing for me was back in June when I was getting ready to hear Hillary Clinton speak at a conference. The hall hadn't filled up yet, but I knew in a few minutes it'd be packed to the rafters. So I turned to the woman sitting next to me and said "excuse me - I'd better scoot by you and go to the restroom - I don't want to have to climb over a bunch of people after this place fills up". She said "oh no one would care - you're little". I can't remember very many times in my life when I've been that taken aback. I was speechless. I then proceeded to tell her I used to weigh over 300 lbs. I don't know why I said that - I guess because I felt like she was so wrong - or I don't know. It was just so...bizarre!!
2 years 2 months out (weight up again this morning for no reason - other than I seem to be very salt sensitive!! I had cottage cheese yesterday as well as TJ's chili lime seasoning - and some mozzarella cheese. Calories were perfect, but I'm waterlogged again this morning - and up over a pound. Ugh!!)
B: homemade plain Greek yogurt, blueberries
S: coffee with half & half, peach melba protein/Miralax shake
L: Caprese salad if I'm home - otherwise I have a protein bar with me
D: corn on the cob (I know, I know) and some kind of protein - maybe some celery soup if I get it made in time
another yogurt if I can afford the calories
ex: I guess I could stop by the gym today. If so, weights and recumbent cross-trainer (the usual...)
I've given up trying to figure out the scale. Sometimes there is no rhyme or reason to the numbers seen there. For instance I've been doing great not snacking and yesterday it was up 3 pounds. No change in anything and no snacking and today was back down to a normal number. And I hear you on the corn--I usually stick with non starchy veggies but at least twice a summer the fresh corn on the cob grabs me and I have some. Trust Mr it's everywhere here in Illinois--even the huge field next to my back yard.
Ugh the fresh sweet corn here in Illinois is so stinking good.
I'm from Bloomington Normal, and today in fact, we are having our Sweet Corn Festival. It's a big celebration and I Love it even though I can't have any this year (I'm on liquids). But in the future years I plan to budget my day so that I can enjoy it. It's just too big of a deal for our community to pass it up. For today though I'll just enjoy the live blues band and jazz music.
If you get the chance you should come down next year! It really is a great time!
