What's on your menu today (Photo Friday) RNYers?
no big weekend plans. Probably yoga after work tonight. Tomorrow I'm meeting a friend for coffee in the morning. Sunday I have a committee meeting in the afternoon for an organization I'm in, then hopefully Aqua Zumba class if the meeting's done in time. I'll also have to make something for lunches next week (mostly for DH - I often eat things like cottage cheese)
QOTD: We moved like every five minutes when I was a kid, so it depends on where we lived at the time, but the one who sticks out the most is a woman named Becky who lives in Ohio. We were best friends in middle school (it was called "junior high" back then). We keep in touch occasionally over Facebook, although I probably haven't seen her in 10 years. We keep talking about getting together for a weekend, though...
2 years 2 months out:
B: Triple Zero vanilla yogurt, fresh blueberries
S: coffee with half & half, SF protein/Miralax chocolate/salted caramel shake
L: cottage cheese, peach
D: probably this peach/pecan/spring mix salad, because my remaining peaches are quickly dying. Some kind of protein, too - maybe deli turkey slices (??)
probably another yogurt, too...
I'm not sure how to post pictures, so none from me. But I loved looking at everyone else's.
I didn't post yesterday because I was decided to do another day of broth. Thanks for the suggestions, by the way!
QUOTD: My best friend from childhood were to girls from my small private school. In 9th grade I transferred to public because I hated my private school. (Mini rant for public schools: I loved my public school. I had better teachers, more opportunities to excel academically, great extracirculars, and far kinder friends. Public schools get a lot of hate but I adored mine) Anywar, they treated me terribly once I left, like I was inferior. So suffice to say that we no longer keep in contact.
However, I became best friends with 3 amazing people my freshman year. 8 years later and 4 different states and we are still each others best friends. I hope we always will be.
Menu:
- Homemade squash soup with sour cream (full fat) 1 cup
- Bone Broth 2 cups
- I'm supposed to get my Syntrax variety pack in today. Hoping to test out on or two of those!
V: patches on
E: going on a walk.

Howdy,
I have been gone all week in San Diego taking care of three cats, a father in law and a house. I have been eating clean and keeping my calories under 700 but closer to mid 600's with 80 percent plus being protein and the rest califlower, mushrooms or green beans. THe only challenge was the airport because I did not have a direct flight and although I had snacks like protein bars and cheese sticks as well as turkey pepperoni I still wanted a meal at diner time. I found a salad bar in Minnesota airport that you could get plain grilled chicken and hard boiled egg by weight. I got 4 ounces for about 3 bucks and that was my dinner.
My only boo boo is that I drank caffeinated coffee but considering I am sucking down tons of water, that shouldnt be the deal breaker. Havent weighed myself but this is due to not having access to an accurate scale. Since I am in this for the long haul, it doesnt matter much and I am a slow loser anyway because I am a revision.
My only disappointment so far is that i do not seem to have much restriction at 7 weeks post op. I kinda expected to be able to get full at this stage of the game off of a couple ounces of protein. That is not the case. It seems like I can eat more than this. I am not pushing the bar but 3-4 ounces of meat and a handful of green beans doesnt really leave me feeling full because I am getting hungry after a few hours. I see people here that are eating far less meat than I am .
food today so far:
Half protein bar
cheese stick
chicken 3 ounces breast and green beans
yogurt with peanut butter powder
havent figured dinner yet.....:)

200 lbs lost and 17 pounds below goal !
Honestly many of us do not know what fullness feels like which is part of the reason we became obese. Post-op we must learn to stop when feeling satiated. It's a new mindset. Keep measuring every bite until you learn your new body signals. That is the only way to lose it and (more importantly) keep it off.
At 9 years out I still eat every 3 hours.

I am three weeks post op (8/2 - RNY); I graduated from full liquid today to puree: For brekky I had my usual protein shake: 32g protein, 200 cal; lunch I actually pureed though and it was awesome: I took a can of Progresso split pea soup and 3 ounces of deli ham--shoved in the Ninjatech 9000(b) and let er rip: Half for lunch half for another meal. Finally a savoryish meal--after five weeks of protein shakes, it was so delicious to have something that tasted hearty it was awesome!
Down 44 lbs since July 20!
Good morning menu crew- I don't have time to go through the posts today - because there are so many!!! and I'm so busy with work.
Yesterday was my worst day ever accountability wise. I had an ice cream cone from McDonald's. It fit my calorie goals but did bump up the carbs. I didn't eat the cone lol so I didn't completely lose my mind. It will be a long time before I have another one but it was very good.
QOTD - When I was a little girl we lived in Newfoundland, and my best friend was Lori-Ann- she lived next door and we were also inseparable. We started Kindergarten and grade 1 together, and then we moved to Ontario. When we were in NL we lived on my grandparents' property and her parents still live next door to that property but my grandparents have passed on. When I moved, we used to write each other- I wish I'd saved some of those letters. Our dads also grew up together, and the benefit of being from a small town is that we are still friends today. We don't see each other often but we do keep in touch on Facebook.
menu:
B- Protein Shake
L- Kelly's egg salad
D- Not sure- we are going to my in-laws for supper so it will be protein first as my mother in law usually sticks to about 5 or 6 dishes that she cooks on a regular basis so I know it will be one of those. I'm betting ham or chicken but we'll see.
Exercise- I'm not sure yet. Maybe something from the 21 day fix.
Scale was friendly today- I'm at 183.9 so down 110 lbs- 7.5 months out. 40-50 to go. It's been slow these last 2 months so I'm really hoping for a big drop sometime soon.
My pic is a selfie of my outfit- and new do- not really a change- Just had it cleaned up a bit last night.
Have a great day everyone.
