Surgery date
Well, it looks like I'll be having surgery Oct. 16! Can't believe it's all happening so fast. I just met with the surgeon this week. Luckily, I work for a health system with minimal insurance hoops to jump through -- psych eval and nutritionist visit, and I'm good to go.
Like many of you, I've really struggled with bypass vs. sleeve. But I've decided this is the right choice for me. I don't overeat at meals, but I snack ALL the time on sugary snacks. I need to have that option taken away from me.
I can't believe I'm actually doing this. I've been overweight since I was in high school, and I'm 45 now. It's going to be very interesting to discover this new version of me.
Congrats on your date! The time will go quickly!

Congrats! So exciting!!
just keep in mind that RNY won't necessarily mean you won't be able to have sugary snacks. My husband has no dumping syndrome, and has had cheat treats without problem, which IS a problem.
