What's on your menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
Quick post today as Im headed up to the food pantry. Lily and I have our 3.6 miles in and will do another mile after supper. I'm so lucky I have a dog who loves her walks. She woes me up and gets me going every morning. QOTD I never expected the support and friends I would find here but it has been crucial in getting me below goal and keeping me here. I didn't know anyone IRL who had had weight loss surgery and my surgeon and his support group is almost 2 hours away so though I went monthly at first I rarely go now. Just so far to drive for a 1 hour meeting. So I join you guys every day I have Internet access instead. Post op 5 years Tuesday and weight at 118.4 today. Here's the food plan for maintenance today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 1/2 c chicken salad 1/2 sliced tomatoes D 1 c ham and beans S 5 oz cottage cheese with 1 T sugar free apricot preserves. Have a great day everyone and make some smart and conscious choices that move you one step closer to your goals!

QotD: I'm so glad I found OH and a few people who are in the same stages of the journey that I am. I feel SO prepared for my eventual surgery and know I can come here if I have questions or even just want to know I'm not the only one dealing with something. I won't freak out for my first stall, I promise!
Speaking of stalls, here's a brag: DH was having HIS first stall at 3 months out. With my knowledge from here I was able to convince him that no, he wasn't just done losing now, his body was just taking a minute to rearrange itself and catch up. Sure enough, his stall broke spectacularly over the weekend with his dropping 15 lbs like it was nothing and we're going thrifting again this weekend because he's down another pants size and he only has one pair of the smaller size. Woo!
breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with bacon bits and cheese. Skinny latte from Scooters
lunch: the last serving of the cheeseburger casserole
dinner: up in the air, I'm on my own. I made a pot of chili for DH's work potluck so if he has leftovers I'll have some of that. Otherwise I have hamburger patties in the freezer
I feel anxious because I forgot to pack an afternoon snack, and I'm worried I'll be ravenous at dinner time, especially since I plan on going to the gym after work.
Good morning! Yet another chilly day here, I can feel myself slipping into hibernation mode already. I'm praying for sunshine over labor day weekend. It's one of only three weekends that I get off in the summer and our summer has been the worst this year so that weekend is my last shot to get some kind of summer fun in. Fingers crossed!
Accountability: Stayed protein forward all day, shuffled a few menu items around but was still on track and within my limits... then I woke up at 2:30 this morning and could not get back to sleep so I decided to raid the fridge and eat a greek L&F yogurt. What's wrong with me?! Now I don't know if I'm supposed to track that in yesterday's menu or today's lol..
QOTD: I would have never even known about OH if somebody from my surgeon's office hadn't recommended it to me. I'm so grateful to have you all as support in so many facets of the WLS journey. Many of you already know that when I had my surgery I was pretty much sent home with no guidance, tools or support for transitioning from soft foods back into regular foods. The guidance I got for the first 6-8 weeks was minimal and then shifted right into basically nothing. I had no preparation for this journey other than a one our group orientation during my pre-op stage and there's only one monthly support group meeting where I live. I guess what I'm saying that there's absolutely no way that I could be doing this without you guys. I am so very grateful and appreciative to have this group!
B: choc pp shake
L: syntrax (gonna be another busy day, no lunch break for this girl)
D: chicken bacon pineapple sausage link
S: egg whites w/hot sauce, greek L&F
V: patches
E: dog walk hopefully (assuming I get home at a decent hour) or a bunch of squats and sit ups
Have an amazing day, you wonderful people! Go forth and make today the best day it can be :)
