What's on your menu today (Wednesday) RNYers?
If you hear back from the RNY gods let me know. I lost 4lbs the week after I ate Grim's giant Chocolate chip cookie... of course it has now come back to find me.
QOTD: I have been told I look like someone else but not in a long time. In High School I used to get called Chris a lot... I figured it was because there was another obese girl in the school named Chris and the obese all look alike, right?
Food was better yesterday. Zombie tired so I just held on.... Also was at support group last night, being out helps with the nighttime eating. No bars. One protein cake bite. An improvement.
B: Latte w/fairlife/miralax/mct oil
(as I wrote this realized I forgot the miralax. So make that latte x 2 -second latte no mct oil.)
L: Emiepie eggsalad, cucumber
D: Grilled Chicken cesear salad
S: passion fruit tea with coconut milk, protein drink TBD, nuts, flax muffin and peanut butter
ex: gym, pool

Grim gave you a Chocolate chip cookie? Did he eat one? Why am I only able to see him eating bacon dipped in chocolate?

FOllowing what you are eating in light of hypoglycemic episode.
Do you have a recipe for the flax muffin or do you buy it somewhere?
Also your food still looks low carb. Was your event rare or something that you have to judiciously watch?

Three pounds below Goal!!! Yay !
First of all, I am so glad you posted, I was worried about you after that post the other day. How are you?
yes, I've been trying to judiciously add carbs but my weight was on the border of what I call my 'oh crap zone' so I pulled back yesterday and today....I am still committed to making sure I have a decent serving of veggies at lunch and dinner even if it means pulling back on some protein. I get more than enough protein... I am also adding the carbs because I seem to have problems with protein absorption even though I eat plenty of it. Supposedly adding some carbs helps with that and building lean muscle tissue- which I have been losing...
As far as the Hypoglycemia- I am not as sensitive as some- Stacy who posts on here is very sensitive... I haven't counted, but I can think of at least 6 episodes off the top of my head in the last year and a half- 3 times I fainted....but I was always with someone. Your story scared me as I live alone too... My last one was serious, I was alone and mentally confused but ate and came out of it.
I know Stacy has said her endocrinologist suggests carrying Kind bars...the ones that look like all nuts- good combo of natural sugar, protein and fat. I now keep one of the kind bars that doesn't have a chocolate coating in the console of my car now, and some at home. You need the sugar to come up fast but need fats and protein after that so you don't crash and keep having blood sugar cycles. after the sugar, peanut butter is a good choice too.
If HALA chimes in on any of your posts, listen, she knows her stuff...
HALA has mentioned she tries to do at meals 20g protein, 10g carbs and at least 10g fat.
It is funny I find I either can go for a really long time without eating or once I start eating my body wants to eat like every 2 hours.....
As far as the flax muffin it is from this recipe - one minute flax muffin
I used 4 tbsp eggbeaters instead of an egg, and cooked it in a flat bottomed bowl so it came out more like an English muffin. I than pan toasted it in a fry pan. (I don't have a toaster oven)
I made it non sweet and ate it with a sunnyside up egg. It worked. I would make it again. It was a little bit large to eat, so next time I would use 2-3tbsp flax and 2-3 tbsp eggbeaters and adjust the other ingredients accordingly.

Thanks for the advice on Kind bars, they sell them at WF just a few blocks away. I will get some and keep in car, purse, and office.
Thanks for the hard numbers on protein and carbs. You look very similar to RNY elizabeth. She eats more meals though (6) compared to your around 4. But by the time one does the math, the values look similar.
Last night was my first night alone (stayed with the friend that found me), when my cat woke me up at the correct time on the correct day, I felt relieved. I am kind of nervous being alone now.
Thank you for the flax seed muffin recipe. I know what I need to do this weekend to get it tackled. No reason why I cant do a hard boiled egg and muffin for breakfast.

Hi everyone! First of all I'd like to thank all the people who helped me out yesterday. I really needed it. It was so good to know that people had had similar experiences.
QOTD: I look almost exactly like my mother. We worked at the same place for awhile and people would walk by snd say hi Jean thinking I was my mother. Also people are always saying that they've seen me before. I must have a generic face. By the way I will put up a picture of myself when I'm able to take s decent selfie.
B. Protein drink and coffee
L. High protein yogurt and a little banana
S. Protein drink and coffee
D. Indian food with chicken
Once again I was too full to have a snack and dinner. I don't get it but I'll take it. Down 3 pounds today. Yay...just 12 pounds from my surgeon's goal...of course it's totally unrealistic... Would like to get down to 190 and see where I go from there.
Have a great day everybody! Nancy
Good morning! Another cold, and drizzly day here. I think I need a vacation. We never got summer this year and now fall is creeping in :(
Accountability: Did ok yesterday. Went over limit by 100ish calories but stayed only with protein (no freeze dried berries haha)
QOTD: Haha! If I had a penny for every time I was asked about being at an event or told "hey, I saw you at the C Street traffic light this afternoon" etc... Then I'd have at least one whole dollar People always confuse me with strangers for some reason and it cracks me up because I'm pretty much a homebody so I always imagine this super outgoing, social butterfly look-alike that is out there picking up the slack for me.
B: syntrax with water
L: greek L&F
D: ground turkey (flavor TBD)
S: maybe parmesan, pickles or arctic zero
V: Patches
E: gonna be a busy day at work so I might be lazy and skip. My ankle has been bugging me for a few weeks now and I don't know what's wrong with it.
Have an amazing day, menu family!

Good morning all~ I hate when the propane runs out, especially while cooking! It's supposed to be warm today and for the rest of the week and that makes me happy. Ended up working 4 hours over yesterday, but I got that damn project done. Looking to forward to a shorter day and my workout later.
QOTD - ALL the time, my sister! Never as kids, but as adults and even more the older we get.
Accountability -I had 5 pieces of SF candy - 3 werthers caramels and 2 sour jolly ranchers and geez those sugar alcohol'**** me hard! My stomach is still in slight cramp mode and I'm still bloated. Ugh, lesson learned.
9 mo post op - 179 and holding
b-coffee w/heavy cream and splenda, SB iced coffee, HB eggs
l-Louisiana hot link sausage
d-eggs and bacon
v/l - on track
e-gym - 45 cardio (I get bored, so often it's 15 minutes on 3 different machines) and 30 min weights
Have a great day all!

Hi Everyone
A quick check in for me as I'm off to visit my daughter in New Haven. She's having a difficult time and I'm going to take her out for some fun. Not sure of my menu but I'm bring along cheese crisps and meat sticks so that whatever happens I can be protein forward.
Today also marks 11 months for me since surgery. I'm a bit below goal and haven't quite decided how low I'll go cause I'm not going to change my eating to maintenance yet. Never believed I'd be this size ever. I'm 133 this morning. Down from 250. Was a size 22 or 2x and this morning I'm wearing size 8 petite jeans with an XS petite top. It's a miracle, a true once in a lifetime miracle......don't waste it folks.
Accountability: yesterday was a good day. Actually was able to enjoy a bit of my coffee black. Really trying to cut down on sweeteners.
QOTD: I've never been told I have a twin, however, I saw one of my brothers last week for the first time in about 5 years and he told me I looked just like my mom did at this age. I considered that a huge compliment.
Not sure about food today but 800 calories or less, under 30 carbs and around 100 g of protein is what I'm aiming for.
