I went through the same thing around 3-4 months out. I don't have much in the suggestion department for this - I'm struggling with this again right now at 8 months out. One thing that has helped me is to measure and weigh everything. If I know exactly how much I'm eating then I feel like I can stretch it out and go super slow to make sure that what I'm feeling is or isn't physical hunger. I bought a few sets of chopsticks on amazon and those really help me to be mindful of the speed I'm choosing to eat at (perhaps I should go back and take my own advice lol! I haven't used said chopsticks in weeks!). Hope that helps in some way. You can do this! Just keep tracking and paying attention to what choices you're making. I totally get what you're going through. Hang in there

Dear mandi87...thank you so much for your reply. Really boosted my spirits. You're right getting back to basics is the key. I know I'm eating too fast. I can't use chopsticks though. I am a total absolute mess with them. My husband really liked Japanese food and I had to carry my own fork every time we went out...lol!! Thanks again... It's nice to know someone gets it. Nancy

lol I totally get that. It's going to sounds silly, but if I'm eating at home, sometimes I will use baby utensils instead of a regular size fork or spoon.. I'm sure I look silly but it does help slow me down.

Baby silverware sounds like a good idea. By the way my failure at chopsticks became such a thing that my friend gave me hooked together chopsticks that ended in a fork. N

If I am having big sleeve/pouch day I will use a baby spoon & fork too! It works well to help me slow down as well. I don't care how silly it looks! LOL!

Not silly at all Mandi. I'm 8 1/2 years out and still use baby utensils at home!

For me, what always works is eating dense protein. For instance, I can eat an undetermined amount of nuts or trail mix and not really feel "full" but give me a grilled chicken breast and I feel full to the gills. I am not sure if that helps but wanted to share what has helped me.

Dear Emiepie... Thanks! Now that you mention it it's things like yogurt that don't make me feel full....and today I had ham for lunch and could only eat half of it. Thanks for sharing...yogurt is now being relegated to the snack list along with cheese sticks!

I was very sorry to hear about your kitten. They're so precious to us.

my hunger came back at five months out. I was so bummed! Things start getting a lot more challenging then. Like the poster above said, time to start weighing and measuring everything...

ADDED: and like Emiepie just said, dense protein is a lot more filling than most foods..
