I worked the day before my surgery- saw no reason to take off ahead of time. I took off three weeks after planning for two weeks. I was only in the hospital overnight.

I took the day before surgery off to wrap up a few things around the house. I was in the hospital 2 days. I took a whole week completely off work and then teleworked for 3 weeks afterward. I really needed the days at home to get in more rest.

I took the day before surgery off because I had to do a bowel prep. I took that Monday off, had surgery on Tuesday and went back to work the next Monday.

Seven days counting the weekend.

hahahaha! You said bowel prep! Oh girl, this made me laugh so hard. I realize it's prolly a real-true step ordered by your surgeon, and I will DEF do one before mine, but this brought back SUCH memories. I went into a procedure with full bowels, and they gave me fentanyl for it...afterward...well. OH. MY. GAWD! Concrete doesn't even describe it. Now, to this day, if I so much as have to go get my toenails done, I will spend 2 days preparing my bowels for the aftermath. bahahahahaha. Good times!

Bowel prep was the worst part of the surgery. I injured my back in a skydiving accident a few years ago and had to take opioid for it. Worst constipation ever.

I worked up to the day of surgery. My surgery was on a Wednesday so I took Wednesday this Friday off. Had the weekend and returned to work on Monday. I have done just fine tried in the evenings. But I only work on the computer no moving around unless I wanted too no lifting at all.

I was only in the hospital overnight.

Thanks everyone, I'm a nurse at a jail, lots of movement and walking. And of course lots of germs. Don't want to take to much time off butt don't want to go back to early.

I worked up until the day of surgery and then took 2 weeks off. 3 days were in the hospital. It would have been less but I'm type 1 diabetic and was having high glucose. Towards the end of the 2nd week I was really ready to get back to work. I do have a desk job though. If I didn't then 3 weeks would have been ideal.
